Anu Verma interviews ex-veteran and ex-convict Dane Gordon. Dane grew up with an alcoholic father and mentally ill mother. He lacked real love and connection as a child and became addicted to alcohol and drugs during early adulthood. He was a six year army veteran which followed by a mental breakdown and then six years in prison after he had burnt a church down.

Through trial and failure, he got himself together (with the help of others) and found life inside of prison. He found a passion for sharing his story and speaking with others about their stories which he dreamed of following through upon his release.

One thing he decided was to have a better relationship with his father and so they became best friends and spoke everyday. As his internal life got better, he was finding freedom inside of prison and remarkably he had found a purpose. Then one day, he received a terrible phone call that his father had gotten into a motorcycle accident and was killed instantly, his world was shattered. He couldn’t even go to his funeral. The whole thing was devastating but in his suffering, he decided to suffer correctly.

Anu Verma interviews 22 year old Mexican- American & budding author Andrea Medina. Andrea suffered from narcissistic abuse & neglect from her father until the age of 15. She realised that she could either remain stuck in this vicious cycle of darkness of not trusting or accepting love off others, or she could change her internal dialogue to transform her life.

She currently resides in California and is a language enthusiast, meditation and journaling practitioner, a writer, and a huge rap fanatic. Her newest project is a book titled, The Energized Self: Explorations of Inner Peace to Foster Self-Awareness, Compassion, and Service, which will be coming out in the Winter of 2021. The Energized Self is a book about Andrea's journey of self-development and that of 22 strangers.

The key themes of this talk and her book are: realizing the active narration people have in their understanding of themselves, grasping the invisible threads connecting human beings of all backgrounds, and appreciating the ease with which service can come.

Welcome to the 5th Workshop and Guided Meditation on Dealing With Grief & Loss.  If you have experienced a loss of a loved one then you may be experiencing grief. 

Grief is the emotional suffering you feel when something or someone you love has been taken away from you. Often, the pain of loss can feel overwhelming and you may experience all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions which include shock or anger to disbelief, guilt, and profound sadness. 

The grieving process takes time and healing happens gradually; it can’t be forced or hurried and whatever your grief experience, it’s important to be patient with yourself and to allow the process to naturally unfold.

This guided meditation will help you during your healing process as it will help you to focus on the positives and for you to celebrate the time that you had with your loved one. It is a blissful meditation which you will benefit from gracefully to help in making the painful circumstances more manageable.

If you are able to start by just focussing on the breath, I recommend starting with that as it creates a sense of calm in the body and can enable us to see our own power for healing within ourselves.

Anu Verma interviews Mumbai-based author Dr Priya Saklani. As a survivor of two decades of childhood complex trauma and sexual abuse, and after healing herself from the effects of childhood abuse, Priya is committed to helping anyone suffering from childhood trauma and to help them overcome the core beliefs that are blocking their road to recovery. 

A firm believer that the only way forward is by addressing the past and to attempt to heal oneself, Dr Priya feels that otherwise the trauma subconsciously begins to affect the person, making it difficult to lead a “normal” life. “I had only one friend – fear.” Abandoned by her mother, she suffered from abuse by those closest to her. 

She now wishes to dispel the stigma associated with discussions about sexual abuse, which still remains a taboo topic in many cultures. 

Born an empath and a clairsentient, Dr Priya holds a doctorate degree in holistic and spiritual healing and is also a pioneer of ‘Animal Reiki’ in India. She has dedicated her life to assisting the wounded adult children of dysfunctional families and victims of abuse, by helping them to overcome flawed childhood programming and co-dependency and breaking the negative patterns of the past and reclaiming their life. Her speciality is ‘Inner child healing’ and she is passionate about ‘Conscious Parenting’.

It is her mission to inspire and empower others to reveal their authentic self and live a life of their highest potential. She bridges the gap between trauma and purpose.

Angeline Constantinou is a Founder/Coach/Podcaster of her Podcast 'Let's Break the Silence' -  a platform for Domestic Abuse Survivors to find their voice and regain their power after Domestic Abuse.

After leaving her abusive ex-husband, which was her first step to feeling FREE and transitioning from a victim to a victor in her life, she always says "have an exit plan, communicate with security, and don’t do it alone!"
