Victorian shearing contractors are rushing to ensure they aren't falling foul of the state's labour hire laws. 

Many in the industry says they hadn't realised contractors were required to have a labour hire licence until the end of last year. 

Rural Reporter Dusty Fitzpatrick spoke to Shearing Contractor Association Chief Executive Jason Letchford about the situation.
