Topic : Simon Peter's Gradual Fall & Decline In His Walk With Christ. Devotion -2. Following Christ Afar Off Brings In Timidity, Nervousness And Fear Even For Trivial Issues Of Life.

Mt. 26 : 58.

But Peter followed Jesus at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

Yesterday we discussed the fall of Peter. When we are boastful, proud and complacent like Peter, we will have a fall. Seccondly, when we neglect our prayer life and God's Word in our lives, we are likely to fall from following righteous path. His was sleeping in the garden instead of praying as instructed by Jesus.

Today we will discuss the 3rd and 4th step for his fall from the righteous path.

Third one has been, his impulsive nature to act hastily without having a forethought. His rashness and hurriedness with which Peter cut-off the high priest's servant ear in the garden we all know. This harsh act made him liable to be arrested. This fact made him nervous and scared even more. He was afraid of recognition by others.

He tried in every possible way to hide and be at a distant. And now he began to hide his connection with Jesus, lest he should be arrested for his assault in the garden.

We too must understand that rash acts, rash words, immediate reactions, it might look like we have won, but they are sure to make trouble for us afterwards.

And the 4th step for his fall was 'what he feared the most it happened'. He was recognised by two different groups and a small servant girl questioning Peter that he was seen with Jesus. Peter outrightly

denied that he never knew Jesus. This showed once a bold courageous Simon Peter showing timidity and failing faith. His courage has been deserting him.

Following Christ at a distance always brings insecurity, and we keep doing mistake after mistake which leads to destruction and despondency.

Following Jesus from a distance like Peter shows a weakening attachment and a trembling loyalty. We can never stand on our own but we will be forced to rely on other's strength and heed to the advise from the world because of our weakening relationship with Christ.

Help us Lord to have a closer relationship with you by not distancing ourselves from you, and not deny you at any situation in our lives, so that we are bold, courageous to do right at all times. In jesus .....

Topic : Simon Peter's Gradual Fall. Devotion -1. When We Are Boastful We Are In Great Peril...Exposed To Great Danger.

For our own sakes we we should mark the steps which led to Peter's fall. One was his over confidence and complacency he had. When forewarned by Jesus Himself he resented the Master's foretelling, and declared that though others might deny Christ he never would. When we are boastful we are in great peril.

John 18:25.

And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, "Art not thou also one of his disciples?" He denied it, and said, "I am not."

Safety lies in a consciousness of our own weakness, and never focus on others, but have implicit trust in God.

The next step towards Peter's fall was his sleeping in the garden when he should have been watching and praying as instructed by Jesus. That hour was given for preparation for the disciples to pray to draw strength and courage, but was not improved. We are aware after the arrest, during crucifixion and after the death that all the disciples were hiding in fear and trembling closing the doors.

When we embrace comforts and entertainment instead of prayer and Scripture meditation, We too fall away from the newness of life, and welcome that fear and timidness when we face anxious moments, trying situations and sudden trials of storms of greater proportion than expected.

Help us Lord to identify the begining of our fall and arrest them to come back in prayer n meditation of thy Word so that we do not panic when adversities surround us but be bold and courageous like Daniel, Shadrach Meshach And Abed-nego and the judge and only prophetess, Deborah. In Jesus name...

Why problems, challenges and adversities of life often look much bigger than our God?

Often times our worries and anxieties, Giant like situations in life, uncertainties in life, sickness and day to day challenges look bigger than our God and Creator??

It's primarily because we do not have a closer walk with Christ. And true foundation Is neither built on Christ nor rooted and grounded in his divine love.

So, oftentimes many Christians too are devasted, defeated and exhausted because of life's challenges and disappointments that choke them and shrink their day to day lives..

That's because God is very very far from them in their relationship with the Him, and in their day to day lives.

Apostle Paul exhorts church of Ephesians in 3 : 17 & 18. Be rooted and be grounded in His love and walk worthy of your calling.

James 4 : 8 says, Draw nigh to me and I will draw nigh to you...

Psalmist says in 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.. (Means He will never allow us to slip, nor fall).

More we draw close to Him, we can trust Him more, and then, we can rely upon Him as our friend and true shepherd, as our guide and shield, as our shelter and refuge, and as our rock and as our fortress.

ALL PROBLEMS AND ALL CHALLENGES in life Whittle down before Him and before His presence, as God becomes bigger and bigger when we come closer and closer intimately to Him....

How can we find peace amidst challenging situations and storms of life? We will never have regret in life, If we make the Word Of God - Bible As our Lifeline!

Prov. 3: 5 & 6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

More people (than we know) worldwide have a mental illness - such as depression, anxiety, fear, eating disorders, and other behaviors. It remains one of the most challenging situations to handle.

The World Health Organization says that these are the leading cause of disability globally. Some common signs of mental or emotional illnesses include:

•Constant feeling of sadness.

•Confused thinking or reduced ability to concentrate.

•Unwarranted fears, worries, or extreme feelings of guilt.

•Life-threatening mood changes of highs and lows.

•Withdrawal from friends and social activities......

Why do people have a mental illness? Medical research does not know precisely what causes mental illness.....

I can share confidently based on my Bible, we panic less, we fret less, we fear less when our hope in Christ is high.

Lesser the hope and faith in the Sovereignty of the Omnipotence of the Lord Almighty, higher is panic level.

Like to share that there is hope, and that life has excellent opportunities for you and me irrespective of what we go through.

We can identify and fix our fears, worries, anxieties, depressions, and other mental and emotional challenges we may have right now, which can be dealt confidently through God’s word....

I want to declare in the resurrected power of Christ to take yours and all of our discouragements, anxieties, fears, and disappointments to God in prayer and lean on His divine Word, experience His peace, healing and restoration of what all we lost.

Topic: Silence That Is Golden. The One Who Never Opens His/Her Lips To Slander Or Gossip Evil Against Someone Are True Blessed God's Children.

Proverbs 10:18.

He who conceals hatred has lying lips, And he who spreads slander is a fool.

It is very easy for one to poison a person's mind concerning another. There is measureless ruin brought in this world by such slanderers.

Characters are blackened, friendships are destroyed, jealousies are aroused, homes are torn up, rift and misunderstanding created in the offices, worship places and churches, hearts are broken by these careless slander and gossip.

One of the reasons for the rise in such slander and gossip is they can never digest success of others. Even if you someone does something extraordinary feat, they will try for every reason to defame the person or make every effort to pull them down like how it happened to Daniel.

There are some who work hard and horn their skills and never have time nor inclination to listen to such slander. Even if they talk, their brief talk will be always good and positive about others. Such people God blesses them and rewards them with true success, joy and peace. We see them radiate with joy and peace.

So, let us never whisper an evil thing of another person. Because we know not where it may end, to what it may grow, and what extent it brings ruin and anguish.

Words once spoken can never be retrieved back. So, it is better we close the door of our lips blocked towards such evil and say no evil of anyone.

This Is A Silence Which We Will Never Regret.

2 Corint. 9:26 & 27. I do not fight like a boxer beating in the air... But, I discipline my body and keep it under control lest I myself should be disqualified.

Indiscipline will take us to shame, humiliation, poverty, sickness, and finally disillusionment in life.

"More governments have failed from poor discipline than poor policies."

"More church leaderships have failed miserably due to bad discipline than bad theology."

"Super achievers don't waste time in unproductive and catastrophic thoughts. They think constructively and they knew their level of thinking determines their success." - Dr. Seymour Epstein.

Paul said in 1 Cor. 9:26, "I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. But, I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest I myself be disqualified. A champion boxer must have a clear focused aim in the ring. Few seconds distraction is enough for him to be knocked out of the event. But, an indisciplined boxer who never disciplined himself to have a focused training and hard work will throw wild punches in the air, never landing a blow on his opponent.

Similarly, an indisciplined believer suffers consistent defeats in his bout or fight against sin.

So, it's important to train ourselves with discipline to pursue godliness. To pursue true victory and success, we need to discipline ourselves to walk in Spirit and not in flesh and in pursuit of fleshly lustful desires. But to discipline ourselves in biblical preaching, participate in fellowship, Word, Personal Prayers, Praise and worship, and most importantly practice and implement it in our daily life. Otherwise, our Christian life will be just like seeing in the mirror, the mud and dirt all over the face and not cleaning it.

Isaiah 52:7 “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns."

Have you ever come across few persons in your life whom, whenever you meet, you feel joyful, blessed and satisfied in life?? Yes! I did! I meet and keep meeting such people. I love to. And we all love to have such privileged companions.

It gives us immense joy to meet those people. They always care for others, encourage others, uplift the spirits. They bring sunshine into the lives of people. They bring light in the lives of people who are in the dark. They bring smile, laughter, springs of joy, peace, inspiration and motivation into the lives of people. We feel like meeting such people as often as possible. Is it not?

Well, you and I love to meet such people and we feel like meeting them and spending much time with them. Is it not? Why? Its truly amazing to have such dear one's. They are diamonds and Gems in our lives, so precious.

Whenever we meet such people, it reignites some positive energy and makes life more meaningful.

These people are in my opinion most unselfish people in this world. They love to see our success. They love to see us prosper. They love to make us happy when we are down. These few people can be from amongst our families, relatives, friends' circle, or from office, or our 'well wishers'. They use the tongue to inspire, encourage, motivate and bless others.

Topic: Death And Life Are In The Power Of The Tongue. Part 2.

Our Words Can Either Bring Death Or Life Into A Situation.

Not only our tongue impacts the life of others in and around us, they are also impacting us.

We must know that we are unique, we are chosen and we are blessed by God. No amount of criticism by others will affect us nor derail us.

Well, there are people who bless you when you do something good, they will bless you even when you do wrong. But very few in this world exhibit such blessed qualities of Christ.

We live in natural often, but never make efforts to raise to the level of supernatural to encourage others when they do good, to edify others, to build others, to strengthen others by our encouraging and edifying words. Such words won't flow from our mouth.

It could be frankly either our envy or pride which will not allow us to appreciate others.

Did you ever experience in your own life when you did something extraordinary in your office or in your church, everyone will keep quiet as if nothing has happened. Is it not? Dont worry about it. God rewards you.

Imagine you did some mistake intentionally or unintentionally most of them who were silent when you did good will speak at the back of you spreading it like wild fire. This is one of the barriers of good communication,.. Grapevine communication.

"Think twice before you speak. Because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another." Napoleon Hill.

Our words are reflection of where we are going. Jesus said, your words will reflect your fate. Either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned. Mt 12:37.

A familiar story I would like to draw your mind attention:

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. It looked imposible for these two frogs to come out. Both the frogs were making all out efforts to come out.

Meanwhile all the frogs who gathered round the deep well started saying, "its imposible for you both to come out. You cant, you can't, its so deep." They shouted shouted, "Not possible, not possible, you both will die."

Finally listening to these dreadful negative words of defeat and death, one of the frog gave up and died of fear.

The other frog tried, tried and came out successfully. All the frogs who were around who shouted words of defeat and death asked the frog how you could make it?

The frog answered saying I am deaf. I did not hear anything.

This story reveals a valuable lesson. The tongue of this world would be mostly like those group of frogs who threw words of defeat, discouragement and death.

Hopeful words can go a long way. Positive words can bless and lift someone. Let our words bring life to this lifeless, painful and misery filled world.

Death And Life Are In The Power Of The Tongue. Prov. 18:21. Whatever We Speak Can Bring Life or Death Into The Lives Of Those Around Us.

What we say will either preserve our life or destroys it. Our words enhance our name or destroys our image.

Early morning we think and keep saying, "Im sick, there is no way out. This is incurable," we are self defeating and derailing ourselves to misery, despair and deterioration.

Instead we need to declare saying, we have the power of infinite Jesus and His word living in us, every morning and declare saying, "Today will be glorious day, Im healed and restored by His stripes, by the blood of Jesus. Im delivered by the blood of Jesus."

We all know the Word of God is all powerful. But unless we know God and believe in His love, His death and crucifixion and His power of resurrection we cannot know the value and power in the Word of God.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.

Means no curse of anyone and no witchcraft attacks will have any impact on us.

If God is with us who can be against us? If 1000s are against you pulling you down, be it in your office or anywhere, we, as His children will be lifted up for His glory.

When Saul the once anointed king and his powerful army wilted under fear of defeat the moment they saw Goliath, their mouth declared defeat, disarray and fear in themselves. But when David stepped in, he opened his mouth and spoke life giving words of hope and life saying, "Who is this uncircumcised Phillistine who defies the armies of the living God?" Every word of David had life, power and hope.

When people listen to our words they should be drawn to us because of the words we express, the words of hope, life and kindness..
