welcome to victorious in recovery
it's sunday
and uh it's been a up and down and all
over the place type of week but overall
it's been pretty good
a few weeks back i
started trying to sell
the engagement ring
because i obviously don't have any use
for it anymore
and
i hadn't gotten any responses or
anything because
i mean honestly it's pretty expensive so
i didn't expect to get a lot of
responses i had some people drive in
from out of town to look at it
yesterday
and we met up at a jewelry shop and they
did their little inspection and stuff
and all of that and
they give it back to me and say okay
we're gonna think about it we'll call
you tomorrow
but in my mind
it goes back to the days that i used to
do business
and
so they cleaned the ring while we were
there and everything and i'm looking at
it i'm like man
i think they swapped the ring out on me
and so i'm like in the parking lot
freaking out and going through my
pictures going i don't know it looks
really similar but hmm maybe they're
just that good
and it's funny how your brain will do
that to you you know and i'm like
ah just breathe david just breathe
they're not who you used to be they're
not that type of people i mean just get
a grip
and i had to calm myself down you know
and my mind went
straight there
no stops
so
today
they
shoot me a message back and say they
want to buy it i'm in church and
okay i'll meet you afterwards
i told them the story because you know i
had to i had to admit i'm like
yeah sorry i had a moment yesterday and
they we all kind of laughed it off and
it was it was good after that
it's just amazing how quickly
my brain can go
from
having a nice peaceful quiet day to
they just stole my ring
and uh i don't know
you know if that ever goes away
if that's just part of the the thing or
what um i hope so i hope it does i hope
i get better at that that's just a
really
exhausting way to be
being that way with people and with
things and with places it's really
exhausting
to expect the worst and it's it's
exhausting on other people
to be honest in case you don't know it's
not just exhausting to you it's
exhausting to other people around you
i've been told that many times
and i believe it because i can see it
i can see when that starts to affect a
relationship
because of my
inability to trust
i can see it like the light dim
like there's that excitement and there's
that wonder of the beginning of a
relationship
and
then my mind starts to do what it does
best it seems like
starts to ask all these
questions and think that it's seeing all
these things in a relationship that
aren't really there and then eventually
you can see that look
and it's that look that happens when
people lose hope when
they know that there's nothing they can
do
that's going to be good enough
and it's not just in romantic
relationships this can happen
in a work relationship it can happen in
a
friendship that moment where they
realize that
you're too difficult to deal with
at least i've seen
