“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
Acts 9:5
This week we will be looking at the word that Pastor Ross Rogers shared on
Sunday on ‘How to Get Out of the Mud’.
Firstly, it is important that we understand that Jesus is first and foremost,
Lord. He is also our friend and our saviour, but we cannot forget the absolute
authority that He carries. When we’re stuck in the mud, we want Jesus our
friend, but we actually need Jesus our Lord to direct us.
Secondly, we need to realise that sometimes our eyesight can hinder our
insight. When we’re in the mud, there’s so much that can overload our
senses. We must learn to rely on the revelation that the Holy Spirit gives to
our spirits, not what we see around us with our eyes.
Finally, we must rediscover who God has made us to be. We can do this by
looking at how we have experienced Jesus. By looking at who Jesus has
revealed Himself to be, we can see who He is calling us to be.
1. What would your life look like if you lived like Jesus was your Lord?
2. In what part of your life do you need to stop looking around and start getting vision from God?
3. Who has Jesus revealed Himself to be in your life?
