  • Do you know the enormous power of your words? | Ep 21
    Episode Summary

Lately, it seems like the world is spinning at such a pace, as if out of our control, out of our reach, out of something.

Stories and narratives are being put out by so many and with questionable truth underguarding these “facts” being released. Are they real? Is this a credible source? Do credible sources truly exist any more? And what are the ramifications of all these words, this information being released, for us and for future generations?

Today’s Victory in Mind episode is about the power of our words, what we chose to release or not release into our atmosphere. We are able to shape and control the narrative of our worlds and influence the world of others. The question then remains regarding the content of what we chose to say as to whether or not we are putting out a fire or are we putting a fire out?

    Happy Contemplating...

    [00:01:10] Putting sound into context.

[00:01:45] Why is sound, the words we release so relevant in the conversations we are currently having?

[00:02:54] Practical example for putting out the fire - scientific too!

[00:04:14] So what’s your contribution to the various fires out there being released by the words we say? Are you oxygen, heat, fuel? A combination of some or all of them or

[00:04:47] Perhaps, you are a fire extinguisher?

[00:05:19] We are in the driver's seat as to where we are steering our words, what we choose to release out into the atmosphere. Wisdom revealed through the ages… did you get any of this too? What did yours look like?

[00:06:28] Are you still applying what you learnt?

[00:06:45] In this situation, what does living with victory in mind mean?

  • True Sisters.Treasured girlfriends.Timeless Friendships...Living with Victory in Mind | Ep 20
    Episode Summary

Have you been around people who constantly party, celebrate who have no genuine reason to? Well today, a bona fide reason or two or three are here, ripe for celebratin’!

Here’s to the sisters, girlfriends and friends in our midst, to the priceless treasures they are!

In today’s podcast we will share a couple of thoughts including a spotlight especially on the time period surrounding the creation of National Friendship Day. Strong parallels exist with this day's creation and with today's current volatile, unpredictable climate that we are experiencing in our cities, in our communities at large.

Food for thought as we take this time to celebrate the truest, treasured timeless individuals in our midst.

    Happy listening!

    [00:00:00] Show trailer

[00:01:01] Intro music and voice over narration for the show

[00:01:36] Wooo hoo! National Sisters, National Girlfriends and National Friendship Days are just around the corner! Let’s recognize how we have lifted each other up and then some.

[00:03:17] Emotional triggers just by saying or thinking about the words that define these days. While most memories and emotions may be good, one must pause to recognize that there may and could be feelings of anger of pain. So much to unpack. Maybe yours and my starting point can be with intentional purpose in being someone who makes these National Sisters Day and National Friendship Day worth celebrating.

[00:05:16] The Origin of National Friendship Day puts a lot into perspective especially in today’s volatile climate. Think about this. [00:08:07] A true sister goes beyond words, hierarchy of birth order or a direct blood connection. Let us take the time to let them know they are appreciated.

[00:09:52] Conclusion with a Poem celebrating Sisterhood.

  • The truth about life... it ain't no fairy tale | Ep 18
    Episode Summary

Sometimes, it seems there is a blur between the make-believe of fairytales and the reality of our lives today.

Not here. Not today. Not now. But there are valuable life lessons we can learn from the plots, twists and turns found in fairy tales. This is what today’s podcast is about… have you found your glass slipper?

    Happy listening.

[00:01:23] Cliff notes on Cinderella… 21st Century style.

[00:04:07] Okay, back to the relevance of this story for our podcast today. That slipper and the whole foot size thang.

[00:04:49] But people, why are we trying to fit ourselves into other people's dreams?

[00:05:54] Sometimes, blessings come with baggage we don’t understand or fully comprehend unless we are on the receiving end.

[00:07:24] And then, can we even adjust to the abrupt changes in our situation?

[00:08:20] We cannot be anyone else but who we were created to be.

[00:09:00] Maybe we are those who clearly had such small feet as in the story… Why do we sometimes try to fit into glass slippers when they're clearly too big for us?

[00:11:00] The big feet situation, trying to fit into the tiny slippers, ph-lease! Could we all just stop trying to fit into situations and plans that we have outgrown or clearly do not fit into or who, or what we were created to be, or to do. Don’t minimize your potential.

  • "Are we there yet?" It's all about perspective. Pt 1 | Ep 12
    Episode Summary

“Are we there yet?”… Many a movie, joke or memory has been made about this one phrase. It encompasses so much, often with equal parts frustration and exaltation jumbled up in the mix.

It helps when you and I take a deep breath and allow perspective to influence the situation, helping to bring our experiences into better focus. That’s what today’s episode is about - Learning to embrace the journey is one thing. Learning to figure out what phase of the journey we are on is another. “Are we there yet?”…It’s all about perspective.
