Time, can we get more of it? How about a redo? Raincheck anyone?
All viable questions. Even though the nursery rhyme Solomon Grundy is metaphorical, illogical and perhaps nonsensical in nature, I have to admit there is something to be learned from it. Until we can crack the time code, if it's crackable, we remain bound by the finite concentrates that encapsulate time. This is where Solomon Grundy continues to speak to us.
Solomon's brief life teaches us some valuable points as to how to posture ourselves with this priceless finite commodity we call time.
Enjoy pondering for a time:)

LEAVE SOME FEEDBACKIn this continuation of Episode 7, Decades worth of Strong Evidence... Never again count yourself out! Part 1, I want to remind both you and I that age can no longer serve as a valid reason for not living life with Victory in Mind. In Ep 7, we started our count up with the 40 - 49 year old age group up until the 60 - 69 year old age group. Today, we continue with our count up. Like me, you might be surprised, challenged and inspired at what you hear in this episode.
That in spite of or despite of time, place and circumstance, these individuals each forge a path to living out their lives to the fullest. They challenge the concept of being “past one’s prime”. Let this be an inspiration to you.
Dust off your boots and keep living and walking with victory in mind.

That there're things that are still burning in you. Dreams deferred. The What Ifs.
[00:01:24] Some of the questions you might be asking like how can I generate an income? What can I do? Because the job or work that I did no longer is there. Call to action to do something with what you might already have in your possession.
[00:02:12] Ages discussed in Episode 7 and plan for this episode today.
[00:02:48] What counting yourself out might be an age thing expressed from the outside or that “practical voice”coming from your insides.
[00:04:06] So if you are in your seventies, here are some examples of people just like you and I, who pursued their dreams, count yourself in the mix: Anna Mary Roberston Moses started at 75
[00:04:46] How about Peter Mark Roget achieved at 72 something established at 8 years old.
[00:05:38] But Waceke, what about my real situation?

[00:12:00] Inspiration is right around the corner. Don't discount yourself
[00:12:48] What do you have a passion for? Only you can answer that question.

LEAVE SOME FEEDBACKCelebrating the Original Influencer in our midst… our mothers.
On this Mother’s Day, can we just agree… before there was Social Media, indoor plumbing and the like, mothers worldwide have been, are and continue to be the Original Influencer - generation after generation.
If you’re like me, you've argued with them, agreed, cried with and because of them, laughed with and yes, sometimes at them, smiled on the inside and outside because of them. You and I have been influenced for the good, bad and or ugly, directly correlated to them.
With all this in mind, I find that if given the opportunity, I will gladly celebrate them. How about you? Is there something worth celebrating with your Original Influencer? Then Celebrate it. Let her know.
At the end of this Podcast, I have included an original "Ode of Thanksgiving" I composed to our Original Influencers. Feel free to share it with any woman who fits the bill.
Happy Mother’s Day to all our Original Influencers.
TIME-STAMPED SHOW NOTES[00:00:00] You are an Original Influencer or you have been around an Original Influencer if…
[00:01:45] Intro music and voice over narration for the show
[00:02:18] Introduction to the show as we celebrate the Original Influencer, our mothers with a minimal of seven points of thanksgiving for their influence on our lives.
[00:03:10] Number one. How they influence from the beginning of the beginning, which is before the beginning…
[00:03:54] Two. Influencers fight on our behalf. Mommas around the world fight on our behalf when all of the voices have been rendered silent. You are forever that superinfluencer, a "Momma bear" protecting her cubs, championing us all the way!
[00:05:32] Three. Influences as the frame with which we view the world. Remember learning how to dress, or not to dress, how to act... swagger. Before there was social media, there was mama.
[00:07:14] Four. Influencing with wisdom, or sometimes we'd like to believe maybe not. "I have become just like mom... when and how did this happen?”
[00:08:32] Number five. Influencing when you didn't even have a prototype. Not everyone has had a mother as an influence in their life. Yet you have risen and become a positive influencer to so many seen and unseen people around you
[00:09:24] Number six. Influences who don't seek notoriety... imagine that. You don't seek notoriety as the number one influencer, yet you just are. You influence by your presence whether here or departed, you’ve stamped the air with your sustaining influence.
[00:10:59] Number seven. Influences influence just by us knowing they care. How you continuously put your life before ours, we will never truly see the bigness of that sacrificial picture.
[00:11:55]Original ODE of thanks to all the Original Influencers in our midst, our mothers.
[00:14:00] Thank you for tuning in to today's episode of Victory in Mind podcast. Be sure to rate, review, share and subscribe to this podcast. It really helps us grow. I'll see you all next week.

Of a truth, no one knows what our lives will be like tomorrow. The Bible says in James that, “You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.”
If that’s the case, then I want my vapor, your vapor to count. What dreams, ideas and goals do you have that are yet to be fulfilled in your life? Just because you are on the other side of 20, 30, 40 years and beyond, doesn’t mean that ship has since sailed away.
Today on Victory in Mind, we look for inspiration in those who, at different ages and stages in their lives, pursued that which they believe they were created to be and to do, regardless of whether they started their quest in their 40s or beyond.
I’m here to encourage you, to inspire you… It’s never too late to do that one thing. Go ahead, light the embers still simmering inside of you, waiting for that opportune time to be lit.
That time is now!

[00:01:35] What might you be telling yourself.
[00:02:13] Focus of today’s episode: I'm here to remind you to encourage you, don't count yourself out.
[00:03:11] So, are you in your forties? Here are some examples of people just like you and I who pursued their dreams.
[00:04:29] We are each a unique creation, created to follow our own unique life passions.
[00:05:01] Are you in your fifties? Here are some examples of people just like you and I who pursued their dreams.
[00:05:58] So keeping it real, life can throw curve balls or priorities come up that are just out of our control.
[00:06:31] Well, are you in your sixties? Here are some examples of people just like you and I who pursued their dreams.
[00:07:54] Today, I am here to remind you not to count yourself out.
[00:08:36] We talked about this similar situation in a previous episode of Victory in Mind podcast, episode five, where we spoke about or on tenacity and staying the course.
[00:09:09] Well, this completes the first part of this two part series of not counting yourself out. I want to encourage you, keep at it.

RESOURCES
Whether it’s the travelers of yesteryear using the stars or compasses as a navigation guides, or today’s modern day version and use of GPS, we all at some point need a helping hand, get us where we want to go or get us back on track when we might have lost our way.
This was Neo’s story… He was blissfully unaware of his potential and needed his GPS in the form of Morpheus.
Today’s Podcast asks you, do you know your Morpheus? Are they doing what Morpheuses are designed to do… encourage, provoke, challenge, help and champion us to discover our potential as we live in and walk with victory in mind?
I'll provide 5 key considerations with practical examples to help you along this journey.
Have a listen to today’s episode to see whether your GPS is functioning as they could. Whether you and I need to start paying more attention to them, or how to find them… that GPS needed to help us get where we were created to go.
Happy listening!
TIME-STAMPED SHOW NOTES[00:00:00] Intro music and voice over narration for the show
[00:00:43] Introduction to the show
[00:00:58] Going Hollywood, taking us back to the movie, The Matrix.
[00:01:49] Morpheus as Neo’s champion
[00:02:06] In today's podcast, I will share lessons learned from Hollywood movie that really do actually apply to our quest in living in and walking with victory in mind. It is my hope that you too will discover, celebrate and or engage the Morpheuses present in your life.
[00:02:35] Number one. Morpheus often sees the potential in you before others. Sometimes even before yourself.
[00:03:13] Part of living with Victory in Mind is walking out who we know we were created to be, or finding hidden clues to our destiny or whether we are where we need to be in the first place. Then, there’s Neo’s category.
[00:03:56] Caution
[00:04:24] Keys to the Morpheus, that is in your life.
[00:04:49] Practical example - gardening
[00:05:51] What your Morpheus sees in you. Your positive impact.
[00:07:08] Number two. Morpheus seeks to create opportunities that encourage you to discover your potential, not stifle it.
[00:07:35] Practical example - parenting
[00:08:30] Your work is not in vain.
[00:09:33] Number three, Morpheus will challenge you, often uncomfortably so. Just so that they can help you on your journey in discovering the potential in you.
[00:10:20] Neo had barriers constructed in his mind that limited his viewpoint of who he actually could become. Practical example - that friend that keeps on bugging you.
[00:11:15] They'll be all up in your business…
[00:12:47] Number four. Morpheus may sacrifice much or they may put their reputation on the line for you. That's how much they believe in you.
[00:13:43] Practical example - So who's that friend who got you a referral, a meeting with a potential client or employer.
[00:14:39] The power of unexpected packages.
[00:15:11] And number five. Morpheus celebrates when you celebrate and grieves, when you grieve.
[00:16:00] So too for us. Those who are our Morpheuses come alongside us, celebrating our wins, crying when we cry, laughing, when we laugh. Receiving joy when we are thriving in who we are and were created to be.
[00:16:56] My question to you today, who is your Morpheus?
[00:17:43] For those who find this is not the case, what to look for.
[00:19:50] Final consideration and thought provoking question for you.

Episode Summary
I pose this question to you: What goal or objective are you determined to see completed in your life for today, this week, month, this year and beyond?
Today on Victory in Mind podcast, I share key pillars that will help you and I move ever closer to achieve our objectives. Be inspired!
TIME-STAMPED SHOW NOTES
[00:00:00] Intro music and voice over narration for the show
[00:00:43] Waceke Wambaa - Host introduction to the show.
[00:01:06] Reflection Question for today’s show: What goal or objective are you determined to see completed in your life for today this week, month, this year and beyond? Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of tenacity.
[00:01:30] dictionary.com definition of tenacity. Overall implication of passage of time.
[00:02:19] Summary of tie-in with prior episodes on decision-making, we had started in episode three with that whole four-inch heel saga thing. And then in the previous episode, episode four, we talked about how just being bold enough to take that first step in making some important life decisions has to be started, but it can only be started by you.
[00:2:42] What quality or character attribute keeps us on that path to do what needs to be done, to see the fruits of that decision come to pass. How do we determine determination?
[00:03:50] Some of the pearls of wisdom in learning how to live with victory in mind can be found in conversations and observations of people who have walked this earth long enough to have experiences that are often only unearthed with the passage of time.
[00:05:18] How did those who have come before us stay the course? How and why did they stay committed to those decisions that they made?
[00:05:35] Beyond social norms and patterns, I think it's so fascinating to find out what helped fuel and fashion these commitments of the older generation, that have held so strong or seemingly become stronger over the decades. One of my favorite things to do in feeding this hunger to hear more and to learn more of these stories was found, especially when I practice physical therapy or physiotherapy.
[00:07:46] It was fascinating to hear how they had had life challenges, but they decided to stay the course of their marriages. They were determined to continue with that commitment. It was because they were committed and everything that they did, they did unto the commitment.
[00:09:24] And so you'd see that they would have a tenacity to fight through some of the hardships that they were facing.
[00:11:04] Part of living with victory in mind means that as we make decisions, we make a determination to stay the course. To be tenacious. To see the fruition of this decision made. Because it's often in the refining of time, the passage of time that we discover the priceless worth of that decision we decided to make way back when.
[00:12:38] Today's episode is a charge. A charge to remind us all about being tenacious, once we make that decision, whatever the decision may be. To stay the course till the very end.
[00:13:29] Key pillars to being tenacious. Discovering willpower to succeed. That you would chew on these charges. Marinate on them. And then, stand up and do you!
[00:14:08] Courage
[00:14:32] Mettle
[00:15:02] Spirit
[00:15:35] Resolution
[00:16:07] And when it feels like you can't take one step further, when it's another door slammed in your face, another let down. Another beat down. Another something. Get up! Get up! You...
Often times, the hardest step towards achieving any goal is taking that first step. Whether it’s fear, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, paralysis analysis, etc. You name it. You and I have probably claimed it at some point or another.
Today on Victory in Mind, we will define the mountain of fear for what it is - to be overcome. But in order to do this, you and only you can be the one to take that first step. I am here to encourage you… Yes You Can!
TIME-STAMPED SHOW NOTES[00:00:00] Intro to Podcast with music and narration
[00:00:43] Host Introduction to the show
[00:01:03] Recap of previous episode talking about our decision-making.
[00:01:19] Introduction to today’s topic.
[00:02:10] Real life example of how we easily and often celebrate, encourage the onset of decisions that are so important, but we don’t have to be in the driver’s seat of that decision i.e. a baby learning to walk.
[00:02:41] Oh, look, look, look! Oh (chuckles), they fell down! Oh, isn't that so sweet!
[00:04:08] We allow the baby to crawl and try and push itself up and we giggle and we support that kid
[00:05:13] But we allow that baby to do something. Because it's in the actual doing of the act that the baby strengthens the muscles, gets to go ahead and explore the environment and that brain, the neurons firing and that baby is learning.
[00:06:21] And in a world of so many I can'ts running through our minds, we often get into the state of paralysis analysis where we get paralyzed. We seemingly can't do anything.
[00:06:21] Give yourself grace that you don’t have to be perfect to attempt your goal: Like the baby to take that step. It's OK to fall. It's Ok not to be successful on that first step
[00:07:34] Realizing that part of being victorious in mind is taking that first step.
[00:08:25] And I wanna tell you here today, that it's okay to try. You're not failing yourself if you try. Living without regrets especially in our post Covid world.
[00:9:31] If we are honest with ourselves, the fragility of life means it's here today and gone tomorrow.
[00:10:09] Keep trying, even if you trip and fall.
[00:10:56] Be encouraged. Examples of people, leaders who took that first step.
[00:11:34] Make the decision even if you can't explain what it is. You can still see it in your imagination.
[00:12:16] Encouragement to break free of some of the invisible prison cells that paralysis analysis put around us. Those tend to be walls of,” I can’t” and “It's impossible.” I'm living proof that it is possible.
[00:13:24] I want to ask you today, ask yourself, what is it that you really, really want to do? That one thing.
[00:14:13] Taking action: Think about that one thing, and then think about what needs to be done to take action. At some point you need to go forth and take it to the next step. The next step was the commitment step.
[00:15:07] Commitment step examples… Shout outs!
[00:15:41] That means you're not alone. There are people around you who are willing to go along with what you're trying to do in the form of encouragement.
[00:16:27] Continued caution to protect your ideas until it's time to deliver the ideas.
[00:17:15] Active looking for someone to walk alongside you as they are not always readily available. Look for them. But you have to be willing to take the first step. No one can take the first step for you, except you.
[00:18:02] So be encouraged. Be encouraged my friends. You can do it. You really can do it. Conclusion
[00:18:09] That wraps it up for today's podcast. I just want to thank you once again for listening. Be sure that you subscribe to this podcast to...
The most memorable life lessons are often be found in the "Can you believe I did that category!" This experience is no different. I will unpack how lessons learned from the escapades of an impromptu 4" heel walking excursion marry so well with "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers. Be inspired as well continue our journey living with victory in mind. Happy Listening!
TIME-STAMPED SHOW NOTES[00:00:43] Introduction to the show.
[00:01:47] Today, our conversation begs to find out exactly what four inch heels have in common with Kenny Roger’s “The Gambler” song.
[00:02:11] What tune and lyrics are being referenced to - a cappella rendition.
[00:02:58] Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. - Enter the 4" heel story. It was all about looking good.
[00:04:42] Consequences of the 4" heels start piling up Clippety-clop style.
[00:05:43] When wise choices are in short supply.
[00:07:15] Cute had left the building.
[00:07:46] My toes! My toes! Did I even own toes?
[00:08:21] So regarding The Gambler song...
[00:09:02] And I didn't know when to fold.
[00:09:41] I rationally cancelled Rational thought out.
[00:10:41] But, instead of walking away, like me, we might keep pushing into what we're doing when we know it wasn't good for us in the first place.
[00:11:26] To hold or not to hold? To walk away or stay?
[00:12:29] Decision making - learning the skills on how to listen to ourselves.
[00:13:21] Learning to cast our vision.
[00:14:19] It’s all about being honest with ourselves.
[00:14:57] We need to work on taking steps that are gonna benefit us in the long run.
[00:15:29] As painful as it was, I love, love, love the lesson of the heels because it's a tangible experience of how it's okay to fail.
[00:16:13] What do I need to walk away from?
[00:16:39] Don’t forgot about the fact that ya need to know how ta run.
[00:16:58] And you never count your money when you're sitting at the table, there'll be time enough for counting when the deal is done. So you are the only one who knows how and when to evaluate some situations.
[00:17:32] “Just keep swimming, swimmin’ swimmin’…" just keep at it, living in and walking with victory in mind.

Let’s keep it real. Life can be tough. There are times when hard situations arise where the last thing you think of is victory. When the prospect of tomorrow looks bleaker than the back side of the moon. I’m here recognizing the fact, that though sometimes as hard as we may try to strategize a plan for the success of our tomorrow, the battle being fought in our minds for our lives is being waged in the present moment. That cry calling for immediate help, motivation, just to take the next step is seen, heard and acknowledged.
In this episode of Victory in Mind, I share how during a challenging time in my life, focusing on primarily seemingly insignificant and unremarkable positive aspects of my life, helped me go through the tough situation I was facing. It didn’t immediately change the situation, but by focusing on things I could be grateful for, I managed to get the strength to live into the next moment and the next until an attainable solution was realized.
It is my desire that you will find encouragement for whatever situation you are battling through. That you would find the victory.
