It’s not just in the spectacular that the Holy Spirit operates. How do we live in the power and presence of the Spirit? There is a framework in which the Holy Spirit operates and that God’s Word. We often think we are led into the “wilderness” so that God can see what is inside us, but how many people realize that we are the ones who need to know what’s inside our hearts. God already knows and He knows the […]

Our mission is to see people transformed by Jesus. Jesus is living, speaking, ruling and at work through His Spirit. Our attention and awareness to His Holy Spirit is how we get in on what He is doing. Shaping how we think/believe about transformation is II Corinthians 3:18 (ESV) “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. We are the rebuilders of the ruins. We have a lot of people deconstructing and if that’s all you do, all you are left with are ruins. We have been tasked by God to rebuild. We love people back to life, we love our communities back to life, and we live our lives to honor our Lord. We repair the breaches and we stand in the gaps. Pastor Jacob gives a most inspiring message on rebuilding the ruins!

James 1:2 “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds” Joy is often thought to be a feeling, a result of the conclusion to a temporary dark circumstance which ends with relief. Joy, according to truth is rather an attitude, a posture of knowing the character of God to be faithful and steadfast. One day, as God has promised, Jesus will return and make whole every circumstance that has wrought brokenness. Knowing the character of […]

For over 2000 years, The Church has said that the end is “at hand”, which sounds like “soon” to us! It really could be at any time, even if it’s still not in our lifetime. How do we live now with a positive attitude as we wait for Jesus’s second arrival, we peace and hope? Peace is not sweet feelings, it’s something we need to choose. Pastor Jacob shows us what peace really is, according to the Word.

Titus 2:11-13 (ESV) “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ…” We are typically uncomfortable with waiting. Convenience has created self-centered people by focusing on what the individual wants. Waiting removes the deception that we are in control; […]
