In this episode of the Video Production Academy Podcast I am joined by Andra Dediu to explore storytelling on video and in business. In her work she holds space for people to integrate spiritual experiences. She started off by studying history, and has always been a fan of stories and reading. Life experiences led her to Thailand where she discovered meditation and yoga which led her into transpersonal psychology.
We talk about integrity and authenticity and how important it is for us to know our own story. She’s a strong advocate of knowing how we are in this world and that it’s a choice.
We go on to talk about how energy and emotion is transmitted through the screen and how your personality builds relationships through video.
Andra gives some amazing tips for those wanting to use storytelling in their business. Check out episode 25 for the full conversation.

Kristy, from Klean Eating With Kristy, is a Kitchen Confidence Coach. She talks about being raised in a home surrounded by food and where food was always the answer. As a young single parent she turned to food as a comfort for the love she was missing. At the age of 30 she made the life changing decision to explore food and find out more about them. Her work now is to walk that journey with other women.
Kristy only really started embracing video at the beginning of 2022, but quickly transitioned to teaching via zoom – and now has a very active and popular Instagram, full of video content – and she’s loving it!
The transition to video delivery has boosted course completion rates to 100%, plus the students are now requesting follow on courses, and has created opportunities to create more tailored experiences.

This is the first podcast recorded since moving house, so the new studio is a work in progress – and my audio is less than perfect!
However, after 5 months I finally managed to pin down the lovely Nic Redman for a podcast chat! She is a voiceover artist and a spoken voice and accent coach with the most beautiful Irish accent, or as she would describe herself – a fully-fledged voice geek! So much so that her obsession led her back to drama school to gain a Masters Degree in Vocal Pedagogy.
Nic is all about embracing your own accent and your own sound as these are things that make you unique.
She recently took part in the World’s Shortest Video Summit where she had 60 seconds to deliver her #1 video tip, and in this podcast explains her process through preparation, recording and getting it ready for the audience.
We explore how Nic went from musical theatre and stand up comedy to vocal work and back to being on video, and how the need to market her business drove the decision to gain confidence with being “seen”. Definitely good craic in episode 23 of the Video Production Academy Podcast.
You can connect with Nic here and get instant access to the summit here.
For a podcast about the impact of video on business, we start off with a very winding conversation about roads, traffic infrastructure and weather. This interview was originally recorded in April of ’22 when it was still cold and snowy in Scotland. Alex describes himself as a coach, speaker and marketer – he’s an ideas guy. Previously a pharmacist, Alex now coaches pharmacists and has a virtual staff company. He talks about one of the downsides to being a CEO is that you are constantly thinking! His entrepreneurial journey was a straight path, but one that included baby strollers and stickers, and Alex talks about the stress and the shame this created. He goes on to talk about the role storytelling has in his business and the tremendous impact it has in separating his clients from the crowd and boosting their career progression. Alex first started using video to send personalised birthday messages and realised that it had a profound effect that could translate and transform his business. Catch the whole conversation in episode 22 of the Video Production Academy Podcast. Meilin started off at an early age as a photographer with a keen eye for composition. A variety of influences including Japanese philosophy, and later native American philosophy led Meilin to learn about healing and who she is in the world. Having moved back to Germany from the US, Meilin took part in a 30-day video challenge. She loved the spontaneity of live video and started to use video as part of her landscape architect business and building connections to others through video. Meilin likes the speed of video creation over blog writing. She enjoys the creativity and talks about how you are confronted with self – but how that is a positive thing. She gives key pointers about what you should wear on camera, and the importance of being comfortable. Meilin wants to encourage you to start your video creation journey – to not see it as a burden, but to have fun with it and play to see what works. 340,000 words. That’s how many words you will write in a year if you simply write a small amount of web content, blogs and social media posts. Creating compelling messaging for your video content is just as important as it is for writing, so is preparation and practice.

Victoria recently appeared as a guest speaker in the World’s Shortest Video Summit, where she had just 60 seconds to deliver her #1 video tip – that’s just 180 words.
Victoria tells the story of her exciting time as a radio journalist, a move into the corporate world, and through to coaching. She also talks about how she delivered value to the audience within such a tight time frame. Nicolene Elhadad has this down to a tee. Beginning her first business with her husband straight from their honeymoon and in their garage, they now own and run 7 highly successful businesses, with an eighth one imminent. Her businesses include an accountancy, an import and export company and a coffee shop that is now franchised to over 30 locations.
Nicolene has used video throughout her business, from social media and building audiences through to creating high ticket programs that have positioned her as a coach for businesses who want to scale from six figure to seven figure months. The most devastating loss is when you're heartbroken and it feels like nothing will ever be the same. You try to move on with your life, but tragedy still manages ways into our paths- even if they are beautiful people or perfect circumstances!
How do we deal with this? We not only have to deal with this; we then rebuild ourselves again so that these events won't stop us from living fully.
Lee’s guest reveals that loss happens, and it is completely devastating. However life does continue for those who remain- through the pain comes new opportunity to help others build a better future as well as yourself!
Relationship coach Michelle Hoffmann helps people find the right partner in just a few minutes a day without fear of a dangerous dating pool. It's all about relationships. In this episode we investigate this journey, including Michelle’s foray into being on video with hilarious consequences.
Her first experience of being on camera was as an international best selling author at a red carpet event and resulted in an out-of-body-experience! Michelle is now much more at home on camera, as you will see if you watch the YouTube episode.
It’s an amazing story, told without filters and with warmth and a ton of humour.
