  • EP 27 | Can't Get Enough of You w/ Judaea
On this week's episode we sat down with singer/songwriter Judaea to discuss her passion for music and how it motivates her to live life without fear. She opens up about being shy regarding her talents at first, but soon realized that her gifts could be used to uplift and encourage others to do the same. Growing up in a musical household she's always had a love affair with the art and considers herself a poet in her own right. As she takes us on a journey of her writing process Judaea admits that most of the time the words just come naturally.
She recently released her single "Can't Get Enough of You" which depicts a dangerous addictive love that much like a drug takes you on a high you can't come down from. She's currently working on her EP which will delve in to topics of self-love, limitless living, empowerment, and so much more! So take a listen and find out why we simply can't get enough of Judaea!

  • EP 25 | Hearts & Roses w/ Star Castillo
We all have a wistful affection for the past -- nostalgia. Some of us reflect on how great the past was while others focus on what the future may bring. In this week's episode we interviewed singer/song-writer, Star Castillo, who chooses to live in the present. Her upcoming EP Hearts & Roses takes us on a journey of self discovery. On this project she discusses different moments in her life that helped define who she is today. Her latest single, Drowning, describes a point in time where she battled with anxiety and depression which led her down a path that was no longer her own. Through her relationship with God, she refused to be submerged by negative thoughts and she chose to rise above it all.
Star is a Jersey girl with a whole lot of soul. Her music is heavily influenced by R&B with a little bit of pop and her amazing vocals is not the only thing that will captivate you. She is a musician in every sense of the word. At an early age she taught herself how to play the guitar and later also learned the piano. Star's music is powerful yet beautifully calming and her ability to tell a story will elevate you and leave you wanting more. So sit back and relax while this beautiful vocalist takes you on a little tour called life.

  • EP 24 | A DJ Saved My Life w/ Gabrielle Kwarteng
In this week’s episode we sat down with Gabrielle Kwarteng (Qwar-ting), a Ghanian-NY bred DJ. Her skills take listeners on a trip around the world. She invokes Japanese disco, Brazilian funk, Ethiopian jazz with today’s most identifiable disco, funk and soul hits. Her mission is to teach listeners about the different forms of music from around the world. And the last thing you want to do is put Gabby in a box. She plans on taking her skills to the big screen.. But you will have to listen to hear more about that...
During our discussion we talked about the word “female” and what that looks like in a male dominated music industry. We also asked Gabby, how her world travels have influence her taste level of music. As a first-generation Ghanaian-American, Gabby taught the Chixx about the significance of the afro beat movement. She also discusses how the female voice is somewhat silenced in that genre of music. Plus, we discuss why the hell China banned hip hop culture from all televised programming. Yes, even on YouTube!! What is up with that??
