The Bible allows for family defense, but not so much for vigilantism and vengeance killings. The highest divorce rates on the US map still show up in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah. What is it about the rural areas in the West that contribute to a breakdown of the family covenant? Rugged individualism is the ultimatization of self . . . and destroys covenant relationships. Anarchy is as dangerous as communism.
