Sweety Kumari a girl from Nawada village in Barh tehsil of Patna, Bihar is an International Rugby Player. She was into athletics but started playing rugby at the the age of 14. Sweety formed her own team and entered the state championship. Sweety plays as a winger in the team and her match winning performances against Philippines and Singapore in the fifteens have made her the best talent India has seen. Women’s rugby website Scrumqueens named Sweety Kumari as International Young Player of the Year. Asia Rugby declared Sweety as the continent’s fastest player. Harjeet Singh was born to a truck driver in Punjab. In 2004, he started playing hockey. For a few months, he took his initial training at the Gopal Hockey Academy in Kurali, Punjab. He thought of quitting the sport because of his family’s financial constraint. However, his stellar performances in the local league led him to sail through all the odds. Then, in 2008, Harjeet joined the Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar, which is famous for producing quality Hockey players in the country; the testimony of the fact is that 10 out of the 18-member Indian Hockey Junior World Cup Squad (2016) were from this academy. He captained the Indian squad at the 2016 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup that went unbeaten throughout the tournament, eventually winning a Gold medal. In 2018, a biopic titled “Harjeeta” was made on the inspirational story of Harjeet Singh. In July 2019, he signed for Dutch club HGC in the Hoofdklasse where he played for one season. Zorawar Singh is International Jump Rope Athlete and 15 times Guinness World Record holder. His current record ‘Most skips on roller skates in 30 seconds’ is 147. When Zorawar was 13 years old, he competed as a discus thrower. However, one day, during training accident caused a slipped disc in his lower back. The doctor advised Zorawar to rest for several months, but after only one week of rest, he started learning skipping to maintain his physical fitness. This got Zorawar interested in competitive jump rope. Through this interest, Zorawar won many National Championships, and then South Asian Championships. In 2016, Zorawar travelled to Portugal to compete in the World Jump Rope Championships. Due to illness the day before the competition, Zorawar finished in 4th place. After seeing multiple Guinness World Records title holders at the World Championships, Zorawar decided to dedicate his training to break Guinness World Records titles in the field of jump rope. After receiving his first Guinness World Record title, Zorawar was so excited. This excitement motivated him to compete for more Guinness World Record titles. Zorawar says that “Nothing can describe a Guinness World Record Holder. It takes years of hard-work & dedication to make a record like this.”

Bala Devi is the first Indian women football player to be signed up by foreign football club. She is playing football with Scottish women’s premier league club Rangers FC. She had been awarded Women’s player of the year award by All India football Federation in 2014 & 2015. Rohit Sharma started playing in the year 2007 and played state championships, like Sub-Junior, youth and seniors championship. He started coaching in 2013 and under his mentorship, U-14 & U-19 girls team represented school state tournament in 2014 and won match. Rohit is a qualified referee of Basketball Federation of India from Chhattisgarh. Rohit is currently coaching students of Little Flower School Salempur, Deoria (Uttar Pradesh). Wrestler Satender Malik 20 times Bharat Kesari champion speaks to Vilasins Sports. Satender started wrestling when he was just 9 years old. From 2002 till 2007, he learnt wrestling in his village only. Afterwards he started participating in many competitions and made a name for himself in the wrestling world by winning many Bharat Kesari Awards. Satender won many awards including Bullet Motorcycles, Cows, Buffalos and Mace. Satender joined Indian Air Force in 2012 and has been participating in Army, Navy and Air Force service tournament and winning gold medal each year for past 7 years. Today, Satender competes in 125 kg weight category and practices in Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium under the guidance of his coach Ranbir Dhaka and two times Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar and Mahabali Satpal ji. Satender says that it is important to keep yourself calm under every circumstance. He says that one should be intrepid yet modest.

Rajkumar Tiwari, India’s lone gold medal winning ice skater and a silver medallist in pairs at the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2013 speaks to Vilasins Sports about his journey from road to rink. Rajkumar’s story is an inspiration for millions who find excuse to not do anything and motivates those who continue to strive for their goal. Let’s meet this iron-willed, headstrong, incredible Figure Ice Skater.  Rajkumar belongs to a small village near Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. He fell from the terrace of his village home one night and sustained injuries at the back of his head due to which he was unable to do even the routine things like reading, writing or playing with other kids. After the basic treatment at the village, Rajkumar’s family shifted to Delhi for his treatment and better earning. In Delhi, he got in touch with Prabha Institute of Fine Arts Culture and Crafts for Handicapped and Disabled Persons where a team from Special Olympics Bharat spotted him and he started training and touring with them. And since then he never stopped. He used to sell imitation jewellery on the streets of Paharganj and would spend it on his training. His father asked him to leave ice skating due to financial crunch but Rajkumar did not stopped and continued to live his dream due to which Rajkumar’s father is not talking to him for past 2 years. Today, Rajkumar is in US to train better and to survive he is cleaning dishes at the restaurant. His unflinching determination and never say die spirit speak about who he is.

Pradyot Voleti Basketball Skill Development Trainer & Founder Dribble Academy speaks to Vilasins Sports about his love for basketball, how he started Dribble Academy and about his future plans.   Dribble Academy is the first village project for underprivileged kids to pick up basketball. Dribble Academy Foundation is a non- profit organisation that provides basketball training and education to underprivileged kids. Academy is currently working with more than 3,000 kids across India. Almost 45% of students are girls. Five kids from Dribble Academy are playing at Junior NBA level. Some kids from Dribble Academy have played at Junior NBA World Championship in Orlando, Florida in 2018. Dribble Academy is equipping students with life skills along with basketball training. Dribble Academy aims to reach out to 100 villages and would like to train 1 lakh children by 2030.   Pradyot Voleti is a Basketball skill trainer and founder of Dribble Academy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that provides basketball training and education to underprivileged children. Pradyot is trained by the acclaimed NBA and Nike skills trainer Ganon Baker in USA. Pradyot has done masters in Clinical Psychology as well.

Parth Jagtap International Roller Hockey player speaks to Vilasins Sports.  In conversation with Vilasins Sports, Parth says that nothing is impossible if you work hard and success will be yours. To achieve your goal, dedication is must.   Sports is in Parth's blood. His parents are also accomplished sports persons. Hence he knew from his childhood that he wants to become a sportsman and started playing at the tender age of 8. Parth says that Roller Hockey is so fascinating that if you see it live, you would want to play it.   With the advancement in infrastructure and announcement of Rink Hockey League in Roller Games, the game will go to new heights and more and more player would play this game in India in a time to come.   Parth has represented India at the World Roller Games 2019 at Barcelona Spain and at the Inline Hockey World championship 2016. Parth is the recipient of India Book of Records, World Record Academy & Limca Book of Records for 30 hours nonstop roller-skating marathon. International Pistol Shooter Shivam Thakur speaks his mind. Shivam tells about his journey how he started, what happened when he got injured and about his future plans. Shivam has won many medals in shooting and has been awarded with Students Ratna and Khel Gaurav awards. But Shivam used to play cricket and played in U-16 team from Uttar Pradesh and U-11 team from Delhi. One day, while practising in Kochi in 2015, he got injured and had to bid adieu to cricket. Shivam went through a tough time but he is a born fighter and wanted to represent India. Hence, he found a game which he could play even after injury. Today, Shivam is doing good in pistol shooting and has represented country at many International platforms as well. Shivam says that many athletes go through what I have seen and hence believe in helping players in every possible way. Thus, Shivam started School Games and Activity Development Foundation and tries every bit to help athletes who have potential to grow and represent India at International platform.
