Children’s MaterialsHey Parents!
I hope you are enjoying the exodus series with your children. This week we see the Lord tell Moses to continue asking Pharoah to let the Israelites go. Here are some questions to ask your kids about this weeks passage:
- How do you think Moses felt when the Lord asked him to go back in and ask Pharoah to release the Israelites again?
- If the Lord is all powerful, why do you think the Lord “hardens” Pharoah’s heart?
- Do you ever have trouble believing that your parents have your best interests at heart, even when they ask you to do difficult things? Do you think Moses felt that way in his conversations with the Lord?
- How do you think Moses sustained his faith in the Lord during this portion of his life?

Children’s MaterialsGood morning Parents,
This weekend we are watching Moses make his first request of Pharoah to let his people go. As we will see, things do not go well. Instead of letting the people leave to worship, Pharoah makes work harder for the Israelites who start to complain to Moses of their plight. Below are some discussion questions that may stimulate discussion between you and your family.
1. How do you think Moses and Aaron felt about the Lord’s call to them to lead the Israelites when Pharoah denies their request for freedom?
2. How do you think Moses felt when the Israelites complained to him about their work after they followed the Lord’s direction?
3. Discuss with your children about times in your life when you felt like you were following the Lord’s call and yet finding things to be difficult at every turn. What did you learn about God during those seasons? What did you learn about yourself? How did this experience inform your interactions with other people?
4. Talk to you children about the sovereignty of God in the midst of difficulty. This is so applicable today, even in this pandemic. Just like Moses, we may feel crushed at every turn. Encourage them to dig deeper into their relationship with the Lord in these realities. Share with them that what looks like it was meant for evil, the Lord will turn for our good.

Children’s MaterialsGood morning parents,
This week we are watching Moses take his staff and begin to change his plans in order to follow the Lord’s calling. He starts by heading into the wilderness with Aaron, his family and the Israelites. Below are some questions to consider with your family as you discuss the sermon passage together:
1. The scripture today explains that the Lord will “harden Pharoah’s heart” before he lets the Israelites go. Why do you think this is? If the Lord is all powerful, why wouldn’t he make it easier for Moses to free his people?
2. Oddly, in this story, the Lord tries to kill his chosen leader Moses before he begins his mission. Why do you think he does this?
3. Ultimately, the Lord relents against Moses and makes good on his promise to provide Aaron as a partner in mission. He also empowers Moses to perform signs such that the people of Israel understand that the Lord is for them. What does this reveal to us about the Lord and how he empowers us to do the work he has called us to do?
Peace,

Children’s MaterialsGood morning Parents,
This week we are looking at the exchange between God and Moses after the Lord asks him to lead the people out of Israel. Moses, time after time, tells the Lord how inadequate he feels for the task. And yet the Lord makes clear that HE is doing this saving work and that Moses is his man to do it. Here are some discussion questions for you and your family to think through after church on Sunday:
1. Have you ever been asked to do a task either at home or at school that you found overwhelming and difficult? How did this make you feel? What do you think God wants us to know through this story of Moses about our approach to difficult feelings?
2. What does it say about the Lord that he gave Aaron the priest to Moses as a helper in liberating the Israelites from Pharoah's grip in Egypt? Do you think the Lord would want to show you this same kindness in the difficult tasks you face? Lets keep an eye out for the Lord's helping hands this week and see how he shows us his love for us.
3. How can we show the Lord this week that we trust him, even when things look bleak, scary or difficult?

Children’s MaterialsHey Parents!
This weekend we are continuing to walk with Moses and the Lord as God calls Moses to be the leader of the Israelites. In this section of Exodus, we see that Moses is having a real identity crisis. For years he's been hiding out in the wilderness tending sheep and then God approaches him in a burning bush (that incidentally, won't burn) and tells him to lead an entire people group out of the country where he grew up. Talk about an audacious ask! Here's some questions you can talk through with your kiddos as you put yourselves in Moses' shoes and wonder how you can respond to the call of God on your own life:
discussion questions:
At this stage in the story of Israel's rescue, Moses has spent a ton of time in the wilderness with a flock of "not very smart" sheep. What do you think life is like as a sheep herder? Do you think he had a lot of time to think on his own and for himself?
How do you think Moses felt after the Lord told him he would be leading a nation of people out of slavery to a powerful Pharoah? Do you think he was nervous? Do you think he worried about what the people would say about him or what Pharaoh might do to him if he demanded that his people be released?
What do you think we should do when we feel a big difference between who we are in our day to day lives and who God calls us to be as people that follow him in faith?
