God's mercy & compassion are revealed by His grace. We have been gifted this eternal protection through the work of Jesus. This is a message that we go forward with in our lives. Jonah, was asked to do as much in Nineveh. However, he was a reluctant prophet that didn't want pagans to receive the same mercy, compasson & grace as the Hebrews. God's plan of redemption incorporated the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus from the beginning. What an amazing God we worship! He created, despite knowing that He, Himself, would have to go to the cross. What's even better, is that the cross He went to will remain empty for all of eternity! The Gospel message clearly incorporates grace, faith & mercy. We deserve God's judgment, but are spared said judgment due to His amazing grace. The grace of God is reserved for those who exclusively have faith in the person and work of Jesus. Our God is full of mercy, which He wants to extend to all humanity. Unfortunately, not all of humanity will accept His mercy. This was the challenge for Jonah. He was asked to preach mercy to the people of Nineveh. A pagan city that he felt to be undeserving of God's mercy. Not all who've heard the Gospel are saved. In fact, it's those who've heard the Gospel & receive Christ that are saved. James ends his letter with a very strong encouragement to the church. He challenges fellow brothers & sisters in Christ to re-evangelize those who've yet to receive Jesus. Christians will suffer at some point here on earth. We realize that all suffering is caused by the curse of sin. How, as Christians, should we react and what can we do about it? In James 5:13-18, we learn that the prayer of faith from a righteous person can be very powerful against the curse of sin. That begs the question… who is righteous and how do they attain that status? Join us this Sunday as we answer these questions and are reminded that we are “Still Dependent Upon God".

It's a far gone conclusion that we as Christians will suffer under trials & tribulations. Suffering is part of endurance training. Therefore, we're training temporarily for the promise of our future hope, eternity. A wealthy person is anyone who has any amount of surplus, after their basic needs are met. Therefore, having wealth is not sinful. In fact, it's what we do with our wealth that determines sinful behavior. Join us this Sunday for our sermon "Warning About Wealth" from James 5:1-6, where we'll be encouraged in as much.

Solomon wisely said: "There's nothing new under the sun". This is true, even among things that are false. Therefore, the same lie told in the Garden, is the same lie told to this very day! This Sunday, join us for our sermon "Same Lie, Different Day" from Genesis 3:1-7, where we'll observe how the serpent got Eve to doubt God's Word, leading her & Adam to shame.

No one likes a hypocrite! The problem is, we are all hypocrites in some way. Even as followers of Christ, we sometimes fail to live up to the standards we claim to live by. Join us this Sunday as we continue our series in the book of James. We will examine verses 4:13-17, where we'll find James calling out a group of Christians for living in a way that excludes God from their major decisions in life. In fact, the way they are living, makes them “Practically Atheist “.
