These words by our Lord and Savior reflect superficial faith, as we are to believe what we hear about God's Word & His Word alone. In the Mid-West, harvest runs from September through October. What a farmer sows in late April, will be reaped during the harvest. As Christians, we are called to sow & reap too. However, we're not all called to farm, but rather harvest the hearts prepared before hand by God. In order to effectively save lives, firefighters do not wait for a fire to bring the fight to them, they bring the fight to the fire. The condescension of Jesus is similar. He left his holy position in Heaven, so that He could bring us the living water that saves from the fire of hell. His condescension is cloaked in mercy & grace. Both of which are available to ALL who believe & receive His message of salvation. Who's really in control of this world? According to God's Word, it's satan. He is the current instigator amongst the world's governments. This world has always been filled with liars. Charles Ponzi, Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds & Bill Clinton to name a few. This is what happens when you're from earth, you speak from the earth. Jesus wasn't from earth, He was from Heaven. Therefore, Jesus spoke from Heaven. There are many who call themselves spiritual leaders, but not all who lead, do so biblically. Unfortunately, many spiritual leaders make their ministries about themselves. It’s all about their abilities and accomplishments. As we continue our series in the book of John, we find John the Baptist once again explaining to individuals, that he is not the Christ. Nor is he even close.

In fact, John is the perfect example of a great spiritual leader. His ministry was always about God and any fame or glory is to go to Christ. Towards the end of his ministry, it was clear to see, it was always about ”More Jesus, less me".
