Week 4 (April 20): The Blood of the Lamb: Passover

On the night of the final plague, death sweeps through Egypt, but those covered by the blood of the lamb are spared. This marks Israel’s deliverance and their journey to freedom. The Passover foreshadows Jesus, the Lamb of God, whose blood sets us free from sin and death. On this Easter Sunday, we celebrate the ultimate redemption found in Christ. (Exodus 12–13, John 1:29)

Week 3 (April 13): Let My People Go: Signs & Wonders

Pharaoh refuses to let Israel go, so God unleashes ten plagues, each one striking at Egypt’s gods and economy. Water turns to blood, locusts consume the land, darkness falls, and Pharaoh’s heart remains hard. Each plague is a chance to repent, but Pharaoh resists. In this story, we see both God's power over evil and His mercy in giving opportunities for change. (Exodus 7–11)

Week 2 (April 6): The Burning Bush: Called to Deliver

While tending sheep, Moses sees a burning bush that is not consumed. God speaks to him, calling him to confront Pharaoh and lead Israel out of slavery. But Moses is full of excuses—he feels unqualified and afraid. God reassures him: I will be with you. He equips Moses with signs and sends Aaron to help. This moment reminds us that God doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called. (Exodus 3–7)

Week 1 (March 30): Slaves in Egypt: A Deliverer is Born

A new Pharaoh enslaves Israel and orders the death of Hebrew baby boys. But God raises up a deliverer—Moses—who is hidden in a basket, drawn from the Nile, and raised in Pharaoh’s house. When Moses kills an Egyptian in defense of his people, he flees to the wilderness, where he will remain for forty years. It may seem like God has forgotten Israel, but He is preparing the one who will lead them to freedom. (Exodus 1–4)

March 23: Week 8: Joseph & Egypt: Salvation & Redemption
Genesis 37-50 recounts the remarkable life of Joseph, who rises from betrayal and slavery to become a leader in Egypt. Despite suffering and injustice, Joseph remains faithful, and God’s providence is evident as He uses Joseph to save nations and preserve His covenant people during a famine. This story showcases how God can turn even the most painful circumstances into a powerful testimony of redemption. Joseph’s journey invites us to trust in God’s sovereignty and His ability to bring good out of even the darkest situations.

March 16: Week 7: Isaac & Jacob: The Promise and the Struggle
Genesis 25-35 highlights the lives of Isaac and Jacob, two men chosen by God to continue His covenant promises. Isaac embodies God’s faithfulness as the long-awaited child of promise, while Jacob’s life is marked by struggles with faith, family, and identity. Jacob’s wrestling with God becomes a transformative moment, where he is renamed Israel, signifying God’s ongoing work in his life. These stories remind us that God’s promises are not dependent on human perfection but on His unchanging faithfulness and grace.

March 9: Week 6: Abraham & Faith: The Covenant Begins
In Genesis 12-22, we journey with Abraham as he steps out in faith, leaving everything familiar to follow God’s call. Abraham’s story is one of extraordinary trust, as he faces challenges, delays, and tests of faith, yet clings to the promises of God. Through the covenant established with Abraham, God sets the stage for His redemptive plan for the nations, pointing forward to the ultimate fulfillment in Christ. This story encourages us to walk by faith, trusting God’s promises even when the path is uncertain.

March 2:  Week 5: The Tower of Babel: The Folly of Pride
Genesis 11 captures humanity’s attempt to elevate itself above God by building the Tower of Babel, a monument to their own pride and ambition. This act of defiance leads to confusion and the scattering of nations, yet God’s sovereignty remains unshaken. Through this story, we examine the consequences of pride, the limitations of human effort, and the enduring truth that only God’s purposes prevail. Reflect on how God’s wisdom brings unity and redemption, even in the midst of human rebellion.

February 23: Week 4: Noah & The Flood: A World Reborn
Genesis 6-9 tells the story of Noah, a man of faith who obeyed God in the midst of a corrupt and violent world. Through the Flood, we see God’s justice in addressing human wickedness and His mercy in preserving Noah and his family to begin anew. The rainbow covenant established with Noah reminds us of God’s faithfulness to His promises and His desire to redeem creation. This story challenges us to trust God even in difficult times, knowing He is always working toward renewal and restoration.
