    Georges Auric [21:41]

    "Aimez-Vous Cha Cha"
    Goodbye Again
    United Artists UAL 4091 1961
I'll admit this was a new one by me, but evidently a well-received film by Anatole Litvak (Sorry, Wrong Number) featuring Yves Montand, Ingrid Bergman, and Anthony Perkins. I'll have to check it out.

A Record Store Day release from a few years ago. This is a BBC studio take on the hit single from Girlfriend. The cover is done in the style of Neil Young's Zuma, likely oweing to the version of Cortez the Killer on this album.

    Ohio Express [31:56]

    "Yummy Yummy Yummy"
    Goofy Greats

Hope you like fire. Seriously though, this album made it up to number 8 on the Top 200. There's a pretty excellent version of this song by the Pet Shop Boys if you were not already familiar with it. Another one of those songs that could be done by the 3:30 mark, but hey... more is more.

    Nat King Cole [40:31]

    "Route 66"
    Go with the Greats

"Allegro (from the Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 4, Händel)"
    Going Baroque
    Philips PHM 200-126 1964
I'm not sure what it is about these swingin' jazz arrangements, but it hits my aural sweet spot. Fun fact, which I'm sure I have mention before: Swingle Singers soprano Christiane Legrand is the aunt of Beach House's Victoria Legrand.

Harb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass [48:17]

    Peter Frampton [44:18]

"All I Want to Be (Is by Your Side)"
    Frampton Comes Alive!
    A&M Records SP-3703 1976
I was going to go with "Jumpin' Jack Flash", but it's nearly 8 goddam minutes long, so instead we've got this one. It's only 3 and a half minutes. I paid $3.50 for his record at a thrift store in Petaluma. I would argue I paid $1.50 too much.

    The Kingston Trio [49:04]

    "New York Girls"
    From the Hungry I
    Capitol Records T1107 1959
Surprise, the album sleeve was for Frank and Tommy, but instead it was a Kingston Trio record. I dated a few New York Girls in my time. I don't recall any of them being able to dance the polka.

    Illuminati Hotties [58:37]

    "Freequent Letdown"
Free I.H.: This Is Not the One You've Been Waiting for
    Self-Released 2020
We saw Illuminati Hotties open for Los Campesinos! not too long ago and I've been brainwashed ever since. A great studio technician and tenderpunk master, Sarah Tudzin had to buy out her contract from the troubled Tiny Engines label and instead of releasing the album she had been working on, popped out this contractual obligation record. The album has great range, and I am especially enamored of this relatable track.

    "Say You Love Me"
    Fleetwood Mac

    Emmylou Harris [47:01]

    "Amarillo"
    Elite Hotel
    Reprise MS 2236 1975
Side one, track one on this album brings us a tune co-penned by Emmylou and Rodney Crowell, with backing vox by Linda Ronstadt. A jukebox and a pinball machine sounds pretty good to me about right now.

    Ella Fitzgerald [50:04]

    "Blue Moon"
    Ella in Hollywood
    Verve Records V6-4052

A contemporary classic performed by the one and only Ella at the Crescendo in Hollywood. I think Ella has a pretty solid sense of humor.

    Elton John [53:24]

    "Your Song"
    ELton John
    UNI 73090

Another side one, track one. I think pretty much only Elton could get away with a down tempo lead off, and a song about a song no less.
