The Blob figured since this was the start of a new year he would venture the music back to a more simple time. For that feat he takes us back to the 1959 release from the legendary Jimmy Reed. Reed was a southern born blues player that created some very smooth and easy to play music that many an aspiring guitarist would come to play and record. We hope you enjoy the simple blues that helped define a genre.

Happy New Year to you all! Thought we might begin 2019 as cheap as possible. So we begin with the 1979 release of the album Dream Police from Cheap Trick. As this was the bands fourth album they began increasing the length of their songs and adding orchestration. This enhanced their music to the tune of this album going platinum within months of its release. SO.... let's get the new year into action with some solid tunes and oddly appropriate rhetoric.

Here a few days before Christmas the Blob wanted to play some classic music from the king. During his storied career Elvis recorded a number of Christmas albums. This particular one was played in the household as a young Blob and he remembers it being the album that sort of rung in the Christmas season for his family. We hope you enjoy the music. Well, Christmas is upon us so the Blob thought a nice children's album would be appropriate. He decided on Frosty the Snowman due to the fact that he heard these tunes every holiday season and they always brought in the season. Merry Christmas everyone.

Today we serve up a Kiss. Outrageous and unique is the perfect description of this massive arena group. Their shows were something to witness. There sound was driving and the pyrotechnics were solid. Seeing Kiss was an experience. We hope listening brings back the memories of crazy times and crazier decisions. Getting crazy for Christmas with Kiss.

Approaching 10 million in sales the Sports album by Huey Lewis and the News rocketed them to international fame and fortune. This 1983 release scored 4 top 10 songs and a fifth in the top 20 of the Billboard Charts. Please enjoy this choice of the Blob.

Kingcow serves us up some early hip-hop from it very first hall of fame inductee in that category, Grandmaster Flash. Born in Barbados and growing up in the Bronx to a father who had an extensive record collection and a mother who pushed him toward electronics it as no wonder he became a DJ. Learning to cut, scratch and mix gave him the upper hand in a burgeoning music scene that was turning to an electronic sound. Developing and mastering his sound which is used even today in the DJ environment allowed him to work with some of the greatest in the business. Please enjoy this. I know we did.
