  • RUST and the Abdication Of Responsibility - The Ballad Of Alec Baldwin (VL587)
Alec Baldwin has done the unthinkable, not just in wielding the gun that shot and killed Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust in October of this year, but in giving a national interview to George Stephanopoulos of ABC News before the investigation has even run its course.
Why would someone do such a reckless thing? Why would his lawyers allow it?
Alec Baldwin has a lot to answer for, as we discuss...in Virtual Legality.

  • Sony's Gender Discrimination Lawsuit - Reckoning Or Wreck? (VL586)
Activision Blizzard is not the only company in the video game industry facing scrutiny for its treatment of women. But unlike individuals, not all lawsuits are created equal, as we'll find we look at the proposed class action lawsuit recently brought against Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).
It may be actionable, but it's not Activision...in Virtual Legality.

  • Take Two: Trademark Police - Can You Own The Word 'Rockstar'? (VL585)
Unlike with copyright, a trademark owner really does have to police the use of its mark to ensure it doesn't lose its rights. That said, policing can go too far, and with at least 25 extensions or oppositions filed by Take Two Interactive in the last three months alone, the question becomes: "Are they going on a rampage or are simply "rockstars" of trademark law?".
Take Two? Nah, we'll take 'em all...in Virtual Legality.
