 The FIFG FootGolf World Cup 2023 is the 4th World Cup for the sport of

FootGolf, and forty countries from around the globe will participate in an 11

day tournament in both Individual and Team competitions this May in

Orlando.

 The tournament will take place from May 27 - June 6th, 2023, with as 1,000

athletes hosted at Evermore Orlando Resort, using the Grand Cypress Golf

courses and at the Magnolia course of Walt Disney World Golf.

 The best of the best in Men, Women, Senior and Team categories will

compete to see who is crowned the new FIFG World Champion.

 FootGolf has grown internationally since the first World Cup in Hungary in

2012, with 79 athletes representing eight countries. Argentina hosted 227

athletes from 26 countries in 2016, followed by Morocco in 2018, with 503

athletes from 33 countries. Now, the United States team will compete against

nearly 1,000 athletes from 40 countries, accompanied by their family and

friends, team support personnel, and press in Orlando, Florida, come May.

 This is the first time FootGolf South Africa will be taking a team to the World

Cup.

 The Federation for International FootGolf granted South Africa nineteen (19)

spots comprising four (4) females, four (4) seniors and eleven (11) male

players.

HOLLYWOOD BETS SUPER LEAGUE

 Former Wits University FC coach, Nthabeleng Modiko, last year joined

Hollywoodbets Super League side team UJ Ladies, where she reveals she

wants to be able to help the team improve and meet this year’s season

targets.

 Formerly coach of the Wits University FC team, Nthabeleng Modiko, is from Maokeng in Kroonstad, Free State, and is currently based in Johannesburg.

 Modiko made her coaching debut with Wits in the 2019 Sasol League season,

going on to guide her team to a top-five finish, and ended her most recent

season earning a top three place with Wits to finish the year.

 The coach id styled in honour of the Brazilian midfielder ‘Dunga’.

KAIZER CHIEFS FANS SPEAK

 Kaizer Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa has responded to

rumours that the club could look to sack head coach Arthur Zwane, insisting

the Amakhosi leadership are “not even contemplating” a change of coaches.

 Zwane is experiencing a bumpy debut season as head coach of the club, with

results turning sour of late after the club lost four out of their last five games.

 As a consequence, last hopes of silverware were dashed, meaning the club’s

trophy drought will continue to over eight years.

 Chiefs fans around SA are sick to their teeth due to another rank-poor season

which, after 11 league defeats, ranks as the club's worst campaign in the PSL

era.

 With Khanyisa Mayo having joined Peter Shalulile on the top of the goal-

scoring charts, Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has said his striker has an

opportunity to go and win the golden boot when City take on Kaizer Chiefs in

their final DStv Premiership fixture this weekend.

 Mayo scored a brace in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Richards Bay to join

Shalulile on 12 goals.

SPRINGBOKS WORLD CUP DEFENSE CRISIS

 Siya Kolisi damaged his cruciate ligament and is in a race against time to be fit

in time for the RWC in France.

 Francois Steyn and Duane Vermeulen are well past their prime with both at

36 years old. Both have lost pace and the Boks now have stronger players

available.

 Elton Jantjies was dropped due to the drama surrounding his rumoured affair

with Bok dietician Zeenat Simjee but now Manie Libbok is likely to keep him

out of the Bok squad.

 Jaden Hendrikse and Cobus Reinach’s spots are in jeopardy due to one man –

Grant Williams (named in the URC Team of the Season dangerous on attack

with every pacey snipe).

 The return of RG Snyman could spell trouble for Marvin Orie.

 Marcel Coetzee is likely to miss out if Kolisi is fit with Kwagga Smith and Deon

FENCING

 Sello Maduma is the head coach of Sello Maduma Fencing Academy. He is a

highly accomplished and experienced fencer who represented South Africa

���� in multiple international competitions including Olimpic in Beijing in

2008.

 He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club, having trained

under some of the world's top coaches and competed against the best

fencers in the world. With Sello Maduma's guidance, our members have the opportunity to learn from a true fencing master and reach their full potential.

 Rahul van Manen was in Bulgaria for the Junior and Cadet Fencing World

Championship is being held in Plovdiv from 1 until 9 April.

 Rahul was chosen among only 20 other junior and cadet fencers from all over

the world to take part in the training camp.

 Rahul van Manen from Sello Maduma Fencing Academy competed at Ludus

et Gladius competition in Alkmaar, Netherlands in April and won a bronze

medal in Senior men's epee.

 20 students from Ditlalemeso school and 10 students from Hwiti school are

trained at Sello Maduma Fencing Academy in Polokwane. This year the

number of fencers from Hwiti school will be increased to 20. All of this is

possible thanks to E tla našo project.

 The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed that in its

audited financial report for 2022 it has incurred a loss of R2.2 million.

 The loss was confirmed by then SAFA CEO Tebogo Motlanthe after the

Ordinary Congress.

 The congress did not take place in 2022 and so the books of SAFA were not

declared in public, according to Motlanthe.

 With Castle having cut ties with the association after two decades, a deal that

brought in a reported R10-million in their 2022 financial report.

 SAFA was paid R25m a year in its four-year broadcast deal for national teams

and junior competitions with the SABC from October 2019. The deal ends in

September. The association is unhappy that, under pressure to ensure free-to-air coverage, Safa accepted that the cash-strapped public broadcaster

negotiated down from the R110m a year in its previous deal.

 Muscle strength and muscle mass tend to weaken over time due to loss in our

can help slow down this process of aging.

their flexibility over time. This makes them more susceptible to injury than

younger athletes who are doing the exact same activities. No matter what

age you are, stretching and warming up before an exercise is key to

preventing injury, especially as you age.

 Most running related injuries have one thing in common — too much

running. Over-exercise becomes even more dangerous as we age. Common

symptoms include back pain, bursitis, stress fracture, hamstring injury,

kneecap pain, shin splints, achilles tendonitis, heel pain, Morton’s Neuroma

and more.

 Polokwane City have been promoted to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after

a thumping 4-0 win over Pretoria Callies in Limpopo during a dramatic final

day of the Motsepe Foundation League on Sunday.

 City won the Motsepe Foundation Championship to clinch automatic

promotion by the narrowest of margins in goal difference as they ended

equal on 57 points with Cape Town Spurs, who played a 1-1 draw with

University of Pretoria (Tuks).

 City make a return to the big time after they were relegated on the last day of

the 2019-20 season
