  • Ep 1502: Simon Tam of The Slants
Today’s show focuses on cultural privilege and appropriation while talking about Asian-American music, arts, comic cons and a ton of great discussion about intersectional social justice. SIMON TAM founded the “Chinatown Dance Rock” band called THE SLANTS. Because of their name, the US Trademark Office is none too fond of the band, but they have considerable support from their own community backed up by thousands of pages of documentation and signatures. http://amberunmasked.com/ep1502-simontam

  • Ep 1441: Josh Neff part one
This episode and the next one feature my guest JOSH NEFF, a librarian from Kansas City. Both of us participated in NaNoWriMo. Josh has done it before and it was my first time. He's what's called a "pantser" - no outlining/planning, writing by flying by the seat of your pants; I'm a plotter - need outlines and to know where the end is. My previous recording was only me solo talking about NaNoWriMo so some of that is repeated; but having Josh engaging in conversation about writing made for a fantastic dialog about how different our processes are.

This is a unique episode of VODKA O'CLOCK for you. It's a solo host epsiode, about a half hour long. I spend a bit of time talking about my participation in NaNoWri - National Novel Writing Month. Then I go all into the things I've loved reading this year.
