Join Imran Akram and Hanif Khan for Monday’s show from 4-6pm where we will be discussing : « Palestine Protests » and « Honour Violence ».
Palestine Protests
Palestine Action has now been banned as a terrorist group in the UK — and showing support can carry a prison sentence of up to 14 years. Despite this, protests have erupted nationwide, with arrests of pensioners, faith leaders, and activists holding signs like “I oppose genocide.” Was the government right to criminalise this kind of activism? And what does it say when so many risk arrest to stand in solidarity?
Honour Violence
Another so-called ‘honour killing’ has rocked Pakistan — a brutal reminder that violence disguised as tradition still claims lives. Across the world, from Britain to South Asia, women continue to be punished for choices that defy rigid family control. What drives this violence — and why does justice so often fall short? It’s time to call it what it is: not honour, but abuse.
