Wednesday, October 28th Voice of the Valley was a replay of Superintendent of Salmon Schools Chris Born's announcement at 4:10 pm the day before (Tuesday) discussing the school closure for a few days. 

Jenny Tracy from Steele Memorial Medical Center was also on Voice of the Valley discussing current COVID conditions in Lemhi County.

Salmon's Drug Free Youth group discusses DFY and Red Ribbon Week.

10/14 Coleen Phelps with the Salmon School District discusses their backpack program. They provide kids who need extra food on the weekend with a backpack of food for the weekends. For the full month of October, Alliance Title is collecting non-perishable kid-friendly food at Alliance Title for this program. 

Sarah van Daalen and Jon Paul discuss the Bollywood workshop hosted by the Salmon Arts Council.

Lemhi County is currently at 26 active cases of COVID-19 and has a mask mandate.

10/13 Johnna Phillips and Kent Kreiger with the Mahoney House visit Voice of the Valley. The Mahoney House is a domestic violence crisis center.

The Mahoney House's Spud Fundraiser is coming up. The potato meal is by donation. This year, the Spud Fundraiser meals will be given to-go or can be delivered. You can call The Mahoney House at 208-756-3146 to order or stop by the Mahoney House to pick up your food. It runs from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, October 15th.

10/9 Shirley introduces and welcomes Will Rasmussen, KSRA Radio's new host. Will is a rodeo announcer. With rodeo season over for the year, KSRA was lucky enough to have Will join their team. 

As Leo Marshall says, "It ain't [Will's] first rodeo!"

10/8 Fred Snook joins KSRA for our weekly Penalty Box report. He discusses the success of the rodeo, high school football (including the homecoming game), homecoming events, middle school football, and more.

10/7 Keven Butler discusses the upcoming Friends of NRA banquet. It will be held Saturday, October 17th.

Taylor Smith with the 4-H club discusses 4-H month this October. On October 14th at 6 p.m. there will be a leader recruitment night at the Salmon Extension Office. 

Jenny Tracy with the Steele Memorial Medical Center talks about their Brake for Breakfast event. $1500 was raised to support the Lemhi County Custer Cancer Fund. 

Lemhi County has 19 active cases currently.

10/6 Rachel Alvarado with Rise and Shine Espresso join Voice of the Valley to discuss this month's Coffee for a Cause. This Tuesday (10/6), Rise and Shine is spotlighting Hope's Place. A portion of the profits will be donated to Hope's Place and Hope's Place will have a booth set up at Rise and Shine for anyone who would like to learn more.

10/5 Lance Pekus, "Cowboy Ninja," from American Ninja Warrior talks about his return to the show for this season. 

With COVID, the competition ran similar to usual, but the number of competitors was lowered. As a result, the competitors were only the best of the best, resulting in a stiff competition. 

Lance trains in Salmon at Lat-45 and rock climbs around the area.

10/1 Jenny Tracy with SMMC discusses COVID-19 updates. Lemhi County is at moderate risk. A mandatory mask mandate is now in order. In public places, masks will be required where distances of 6 feet cannot be maintained between people. Tracy urges the community members to stay home when they are sick and keep their kids home from school if they feel sick. Tracy also discusses COVID symptoms.
