9/9 Jenny Tracy with the Steele Memorial Medical Center gives the weekly COVID-19 update. Lemhi County has stayed low with its COVID-19 cases. As of 9/9, there are 5 active cases in Lemhi County, meaning that Lemhi County is still categorized as minimal risk. 

Tracy also gives information for baby safety awareness and peripheral artery disease.

9/8 Meri Galvan with the Salmon Arts Council announces that they have art kits available for kids. These art kits, "SAC Sacks," available for a range of ages. 

You can pick up these kits for free for kids. You can visit or message the Salmon Arts Council Facebook page or email [email protected] to sign up. The first kit's deadline for sign-ups is September 15th. 

Each month there will be a new kit and theme, so stay tuned to the Salmon Arts Council Facebook page for future updates.

9/4 Cheryl Baker with Clayton Historical Association announces their annual donut and coffee celebration at the Clayton museum. The profits will be donated to the museum. 

All are invited to visit Clayton and try out these amazing donuts on Sunday, September 6th. The museum opens at 10, and donuts will be prepared throughout the day.

9/3 Chris Born, superintendent of Salmon School District #291 discusses the opening of Salmon School District Schools September 14th. 

Because Lemhi County is now categorized as minimal risk for COVID-19, schools will operate as normal. Masks will not be mandated, spectators can watch sports events, etc. However, teachers are still doing what they can to implement safety precautions whenever possible.

9/2 Russ Chinske with Salmon Valley Stewardship announces that nominations are now open for the 2020 David Krosting Sustainability Award. This award is given to businesses and people who have done good things around the community Nominations are due 9/10. You can call the Salmon Valley Stewardship or visit their office or website to submit a nomination. 

Lemhi County is officially categorized as minimal risk for COVID-19. The mask mandate was released thanks to this new categorization.

9/1 Nick and Rachel with Rise and Shine Espresso discuss Coffee for a Cause. This month, Rise and Shine is partnering with Salmon FFA. 20% of the sales today (9/1) will be donated to Salmon FFA.

Salmon FFA brings students to state and national events and hosts fundraisers. These events are great for students to compete, learn leadership skills, and establish connections.

Dede Smith, J D Hamaker, Kevin Higley, Will Rasmussen, and John Payne visit Voice of the Valley to discuss the upcoming Rodeo. The lineup of rodeo talent has never been to this caliber in Lemhi County, including multiple world champions and NFR contestants. 

Because so many rodeos in the area have been canceled, Salmon is set to see talent from far and wide join our ranks for the weekend. 

Extra sanitizing and safety precautions will be taken in order to keep spectators as safe as possible.

Jenny Tracy shares the good news that Lemhi County will officially be categorized as minimal risk for COVID-19 as long as numbers stay under 12 active cases until August 31. Tracy encourages listeners to continue wearing masks and social distance. 

Dede O'Neal Smith and Jay Wiley discuss the Lemhi County Fair. August 27th marked the start of the fair, but events will continue all week. 

There are extra sanitation measures being taken and masks are available for spectators.

Lemhi County as of 8/19 has 9 active cases. This starts day 1 of the 7 day stretch towards being categorized as minimal risk. If the COVID-19 active case numbers in Lemhi County stay below 12 for the next 6 days, Lemhi County will again be minimal risk. 

Tracy encourages people to continue washing hands, wearing masks in public spaces, social distance when possible, and stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.
