Voices of Wrestling Podcast Network

This week's episode of Wrestling Omakase sees us welcome a brand new guest, the King of Banter himself, Joe Lanza of the Voices of Wrestling flagship (@voiceswrestling)! It's tough for me to pin down an exact topic here: ostensibly the show was supposed to be about John & Joe's similar background in wrestling, mainly with ROH/DG/NOAH in the early-to-mid 2000s, but in practice we talked about all sorts of stuff in nearly two-and-a-half hours. Joe talks about growing up with the WWF & WCW and why he continues watching WWE now, how much WWE he'd actually watch if he wasn't doing the podcast every week, getting into ECW during what most would describe as the glory years of the company and why he felt it worked so well at the time, tape trading and his early puroresu & lucha fandom, what it was like downloading shows off the internet early on, different puro websites John & Joe both frequented, and finally their memories of attending ROH shows during that company's glory period, watching NOAH during their glory years, and getting into Dragon Gate as well! Plus, we got a ton of questions sent in from Twitter followers of the Omakase account (@wrestleomakase) and we answer every single one of them, on everything from Hikaru Sato to full communism! All this and much more on a wide-ranging episode of Wrestling Omakase!

Follow up to last week's episode featuring a plethora of interviews from wXw's World Tag Team League weekender.

Interviews from: Jay-FK, Massive Product, Avalanche, Tas, Dirty Dragan, Toni Storm, Ilja Dragunov & CMJ.

JR Goldberg (@wrestlingbubble) makes his return appearance on the first-ever listener requested episode of Wrestling Omakase! Two weeks ago we covered the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame candidates from Japan & America with Rich Kraetsch, so now we're back to discuss the candidates from Mexico in possibly the most positive wrestling podcast in history! Hear JR make convincing arguments for nearly every candidate, everyone from Blue Panther to Caristico/Mistico to Dr. Wagner Jr to LA Park and more! Plus, before we get to that, we discuss some of the candidates from the other regions again, how JR got into lucha in the first place, how it's harder for American wrestling fans to get into lucha than puroresu and some of the key differences, how the rules compare in lucha to some of the Japanese lucharesu companies, and more! Finally, we wrap things up with a brief ROH mailbag, following up on our last episode on ROH by answering some questions sent in by listeners. It's an episode that takes us right up to the 3 hour limit set by our podcast host (hence the lack of any opening songs this week, sorry!) as we discuss a whole lot of lucha & a little bit more, this week on Wrestling Omakase!

Rob and Jeff talk the departures of Neville and Nia Jax, the upcoming TLC 2017 PPV, the rise of the cruiserweights, the fall of Brock, and much more!

On this episode of Music of the Mat, Chris, Andrew, and special guest co-host Milo Martinez (Open the Voice Gate) bid a heartfelt adieu to the Dragon Gate unit The Jimmyz. They play their unit and individual themes, as well as discuss what made The Jimmyz so beloved as a group. It's an episode of laughs, love, life, and rubber band attacks.
