Rob and Jeff are joined this week by Sherdog and F4WOnline contributor Todd Martin to break down the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble. We'll get Todd's thoughts on the storylines heading into the event, who will win each match, and where WWE will go from here into WrestleMania season. Plus, Brock Lesnar looking for a fight, baby. We'll also recap and discuss Dean Malenko vs Scotty 2 Hotty from Backlash 2000 in our Top 100 Matches to See countdown.

We focus solely on the 2014 Wrestling Observer Awards in this episode breaking down each of the categories, who we voted for, why we voted for them, snubs as well as predictions on the eventual winners. Awards include Wrestler of the Year, Match of the Year, Worst Show of the Year and many more awards covering both the best and worst in wrestling last year. In true Voices of Wrestling form, we go off on many tangents including my New Year's limo driver claiming to be Kato of the Orient Express, my new puppy humping my leg, our preferred porn and much more.

What happens when you mix Pro Wrestling Ponderings and Voices of Wrestling? You get a near three hour podcast on indie wrestling. Jerome Cusson of PWP teams up with Rich Kraetsch and Joe Lanza of VOW to talk about indie wrestling. They talk about the biggest matches, wrestlers, and promotion in North America. It wouldn't be a podcast featuring Joe with a couple random rants. Joe discusses his dislike for CZW and BJ Whitmer. There's also pizza discussion too. An all-around podcast covering the world of indie wrestling in-depth. A great podcast to listen to if you're a fan of both websites.

It's safe to say Joe and I enjoyed New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 9 so we cover it from every angle, discuss the attendance numbers and break down each and every match in insane detail including two all-time great five-star matches in Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota Ibushi and Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi. Other topics include the two New Beginning cards, where New Japan goes from here and much more.

Surprise! To kick off 2015 in a big way, Shake Them Ropes returns with an STR Extra, an episode that breaks away from our traditional WWE & NXT coverage to expand to some other news in pro wrestling. First, former WWE Superstar and current GFW President Jeff Jarrett will join us to talk NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 9, cord cutting, what carriers will have it live, Flipps TV, millennials’ viewing habits, his history in wrestling, and much more. Later in the show, returning guest Dylan Hales will talk the Voices of Wrestling Match of the Year poll, his candidates, and his fondness for Timothy Thatcher and Kongo Kong. Plus, as usual, Jeff Hawkins comes along to break down the return of Daniel Bryan and our thoughts from Raw this week. We expected a throw away show, but instead got a newsworthy 3 hours so we needed to talk about it. Rob will also explain what STR Extra will be, how often we’ll do it, and our new YouTube channel. We hope you enjoy, and have a great start to 2015!
