Voices Radio

Philippa is back to take us on a morning walk through the Boglands, exploring human relationship to place and nature through experimental, traditional, improvised and contemporary music. This month's show features a live recording of ‘for Organ and Cave’, composed by Sheffield-raised producer and multi-instrumentalist Emily Marks, and performed by Barney Silverstone on the Union Chapel organ last month.

For Organ and Cave explores the archaeoacoustics of caves and spirituality, drawing similarities between the spatial qualities of caves and churches and how both places throughout history have brought people closer to the feeling of something higher. The show also features new music from Emily Marks’s synth and cello project VERA SACRA.

June's Picky beats serves up a selection of peak-time chuggers and driving cuts, weaving together acid, electro, tech house, prog, trance, and techno.

For this month’s show, Thoughts On Elvis takes us back to the weekend of Hackney Half with a live recording B2B with Australian producer/DJ @sydneyandstreet on her London debut for @heart2heartldn @two_moreyears . Expect an hour of summery, dancey tunes and the usual edit or two spun in. High energy & high vibes, this one will put you in a party mood.

YELLOWCAR is bringing dark, industrialised noise and harsh soundscapes to this month's NO RETURNS and showcasing trans producers such as Distraxi and tunes from the EP The Nightmare Continues from Teessides finest Industrial Coast.

Next up in the studio, Tendai returns to voices with an hour of soulful drum n bass pressure with a mix of past, present and future selections perfect for a summery evening. Tune in!!
