Bringing the Wet Wax Productions takeover to a close, Afrolion steps in with a set that reads like a score to her life,

where film and music meet in full expression.

Blending groove, rhythm and soulful textures, the session unfolds with intention and feeling, cinematic, reflective and gently uplifting. The perfect way to close the takeover—a final note that lingers.

Carrying us into the 3PM rotation as the Wet Wax Productions takeover continues, we welcome Mali-i - DJ, music maker and creative director across Biodiversity, Rhythm Section and Monzanto Sound.

This afternoon, he brings a rooted and rhythmic selection, moving through reggae, dancehall and dancefloor-ready cuts, warm, bass-led and built. A mid-afternoon skank with intent, get involved.

Next up on the Wet Wax takeover, Kiss Chase steps in for her debut radio show, sharing a recent rotation shaped through both vinyl and digital selections.

Rooted in house, the set unfolds with subtle inflections of jazz and electronic flair, smooth, intentional and gently escalating. Think Ibiza rooftops at golden hour, soft, sultry and steadily building toward a quiet peak.

For the last two hours, you’ve been taken on a journey with Jake Ferguson of The BRKN Record and Heliocentric collective. The session unfolded as a deep dive into off-centre sound—moving from wonky rhythms through to Japanese jazz and psychedelic textures.

A richly layered rotation, balancing experimentation with flow, where each transition opened into something unexpected, yet perfectly placed.

Good morning and welcome to our takeover programming here on Voices Radio, where we invite collectives into the studio at Coal Drops Yard to navigate their sound and share their world live on air.

This month, we welcome Wet Wax Productions—a film and music platform led by beb and Ryan, championing collaborations across sound and visual culture. Together, they guide us through a carefully built all-wax selection, moving between film soundtracks, gospel, jungle and house and more.

A tactile, cross-disciplinary session rooted in collection, curation and connection tap in and let’s get waxy. 🎞️📀
