Voices Radio

Welcome to The Potluck Podcast show on Voices Radio. I’m your talk show host, Alabama Jewel. London is one giant simmering cultural melting pot that’s filled to the brim with deliciously rich and flavourful conversations.

MRKH — a diagnosis that completely changed how Charlie saw her future at just 17 years old. The traditional path to parenthood she had imagined suddenly felt as though it had been taken away from her.

Charlie could have quietly learned to live with the condition, but instead she chose to turn her experience into advocacy. Today, she supports and guides women of all ages living with MRKH, connecting with people not only across the UK, but also in Norway, where she now resides.

Her story is one of identity, acceptance and using a deeply personal experience to help others feel less alone.

FemmeDM is a Glasgow-founded platform championing FLINTA+ artists across

underground electronic music. Through club nights, DJ workshops, radio, bookings and

takeovers across Glasgow and London, FemmeDM creates space for both emerging and

established selectors while connecting scenes across the UK. Each month on Voices,

FemmeDM hands the controls to a different artist from its wider network, showcasing the

sounds and people shaping the community.

This month welcomes Carmen Baía, a Glasgow-based DJ known for eclectic, high-intensity

sets moving through Latin-inspired percussion, jungle, baile funk and stripped-back house. A

resident with Breathe Glasgow and Radio Buena Vida, she has played FLY Open Air and

TRNSMT alongside sold-out shows across Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. Her instinctive

approach to rhythm and genre makes for unpredictable, percussion-heavy club music.

This missive is inspired by my favourite moments, sets and sounds that I experienced across a very fun summer. Mostly a chuggy, warm up vibe - builds into a more energetic finish, as I so love to do. Back in November, enjoy the ride

60 minutes moving through classic 90s house and garage, hypnotic bass, and raw analog texture  pulled together with threads of minimal house and breaks along the way. Less a genre lesson than a mood: warm, worn-in sounds built for late nights, favoring groove and atmosphere over polish.
