Growing up in the small town of Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders, electronic music and the rave scene was hard to come by. Through going further afield to places like Liquid Rooms and the Sub Club, LOVELL got the education he was looking for through seeing household names like Andrew Weatherall, Ben Klock and Fred P. This shaped his sound and he demonstrates in through his “Expressions (Dance Cafe)” nights in Glasgow alongside his fellow DJ and good friend Paul, through his monthly radio show on Subcity Radio and most recently being asked to become resident at early evening club night “Evenin’” at La Cheetah Club in Glasgow. Over the last decade appearances at festivals, pubs and clubs has allowed LOVELL to really hone in on the vibe and the sound which he wants.

This month’s show from Alex Iza is a UK funky bonanza, delivering irresistible drum beats, soulful vocals and pounding percussion. Starting soft and getting heavy, it’s a perfect listen for the deep summer heat. Drink this to restore 50 HP! 💖✨👾🔊

This month we reflect on our campaign to save Barking, a vital indoor skatepark and community space in London. The campaign was a huge success in capturing the hearts of the wider community and being featured on the BBC, in The Guardian, Private Eye and many other platforms.

However despite the wishes of the community, the park closed.

We mourn this loss and think about our future plans with some of our favourite songs to skate too.
