Switching gears heading into the summer, piratecura is back with an ambient deep techy warm-up before the 2nd hour guest. 1/4th of @hydrabadmcr and Cloudcore Nectar all-star, @two_dux takes the reigns for the second hour with a proper leftfield mix. He had this to share:

Maddi is back for this month’s edition of @pretendonline but things are sounding a little different... because we are one of a few stations taking part in Refugee Week On Air, which is all about celebrating the contributions, resilience and courage of refugees and people seeking sanctuary this @refugeeweekuk

So - on the show, Maddi will be speaking with Aky, a Syrian guitarist who travelled to the UK on foot from Turkey in search of safety before finding a home in South Yorkshire, and friends in Mark Fell and @liam_oshea_sy of @noboundsfestivaluk

Members of ‘One Song’ Alicia, Vivian and Ade, will each sing a song that connect them the homes they left in Argentina, Hong Kong and Nigeria. We’ll also hear from @onesongproject artist Kadir Karababa, who explains the audio visual art installation and archive in more detail, including how music carries memory across borders, and how his own family’s migration story inspired the work.

As well as live recordings of Alicia, Vivian and Ade’s ‘One Song’, we will also hear two recordings from Harmony Choir Leeds, a welcome space for people seeking sanctuary to come together, as well as from members Anne and Maffo about what the group means to them.

Maddi will also be talking ROCK! But not rock music… ROCK CLIMBING with Ukranian refugee Svitlana, who has found community in Sheffield through Refugees Rock – a climbing club for people fleeing war, persecution and exploitation run via @theclimbinghangaruk The programme will end by thinking about how those of us who are not refugees can support people seeking sanctuary by sharing Refugee Week’s ‘Ten Simple Acts’ and will also include some thoughts from Calais volunteer @tadhg.barrett
