The story is epic, and the ending is exactly how you expect it to be when someone attempts to get to 38 breweries in one day. Now, there is a beer to commemorate the most epic Cincinnati beer tour of all time. I can’t even begin to thank FigLeaf enough for making this beer, called That One Time In Newport, happen. I’m proud to take part (even if it was a small part) in this – and I’m glad that they understand the humor in the situation. Of course, when a brewery makes a beer in your honor – you do a Brewcast to celebrate.
I headed up to FigLeaf during the can release of the beer to sit down with co-owner Brian Yavorsky to chat about the beer, to tell “the story” and to see what FigLeaf has been up to since we last talked to them during the summer. Since we ran into DogBerry owner Tony Meyer – we set up another mike and invited him to sit down and have a beer, too.
The conversation ranged from talking abou bock beer, to discussing the possibility of ever hitting all the breweries in one day again – it dipped into how a brewery attempts to grow (or not grow) in today’s croweded market and it even dove into the world of weed and it’s future impact on craft beer. There is a lot crammed into this hour long show!
Thank you, again for FigLeaf for coming through with a perfect beer to honor “The Story”, to Brian for inviting me out to broadcast and both Brian and Tony giving me a few minutes of their time.
