They are all in a never ending process of ‘Growing Up’ and evolving, our local breweries. It’s not a huge shock that our oldest locally owned brewery in the bunch, Mt. Carmel has been on a similar path of never ending growth and evolution. What is shocking for these guys though is how much they’ve really managed to refocus and understand exactly who they are at their core each time they do so. They’re pretty special here in Cincinnati – and a perfect place to head on location for this week’s episode.
I sat down with Mike and Kathleen Dewey along with my special co-host this week, Andy Foltz to talk about all things Mt. Carmel. We dove into the history of the brewery and the idea behind this massive expansion that they are in the middle of. Their new carriage house taproom and restaurant is fantastic and we explore all the pieces that go into creating that.
Of course… we drink a few beers along the way to loosen the Dewey’s up and see if can get a peek into the future of what we can expect from Mt. Carmel.
