She then landed another television show, which was called Global Beauty Masters where she and her team competed for a $100,000 cash prize. She spent 2 seasons on that show where she was crowned “ Best Nail Tech “ and was awarded Mastery Of Nails.
China has a love for teaching and seeing the growth in other nail techs and the growth of the nail community as a whole. Elizabeth L. Block, an art historian, is a Senior Editor in the Publications and Editorial Department at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Dr. Block earned her PhD in art history at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, with a focus on 19th-century American painting. She also holds an MA in American Studies from Columbia University, and a BA in English from The George Washington University.
Beyond Vanity: The History and Power of Hairdressing (MIT Press) is available now, and has been featured in Forbes, Hyperallergic, Daily Art Magazine, Town & Country, The New York Post, and more.
Her book Dressing Up: The Women Who Influenced French Fashion (2021) also published by MIT Press, won the Victorian Society in America book award 2022, and was shortlisted for the Association of Dress Historians 2022 Book of the Year. The book was reviewed widely in journals devoted to fashion history, American history, art history, and business history.

Interview with Jordan Yanatos
Jordan Yanatos, also known as "Pinup Jordan," is an acclaimed hairstylist celebrated for her expertise in vivid hair color and alternative styles. Jordan has a significant social media following, where she showcases her artistic talents and advocates for the empowerment of hairstylists everywhere. She is also the owner of Pinup Jordan’s Mermaid Lounge and The Creative Collective Artist Studios in Schenectady, NY. After completing her bachelor's degree at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, Jordan went on to continue her education with Paul Mitchell The School Schenectady in 2011. After working independently for 3 years, Jordan opened up Pinup Jordan’s Mermaid Lounge in Scotia, NY in 2015. In 2018, Jordan founded the first salon-style creative collective, in downtown Schenectady. The Mermaid Lounge was moved from Scotia into the new artist studios where it exists to this day.
Jordan has worked as an education and guest artist for many professional companies including PRAVANA, The Wet Brush, Kenra, Brazilian Bond Builder, Pink Pewter, donna bella, Dreamcatchers Hair Extensions, Guy Tang Color, and CHI.
In addition to being passionate about education on stages across the country, Jordan loves mentoring local high school and cosmetology students, as well as assisting local businesses with marketing and content creation to better grow their brand through creative collective marketing.
She is the driving force behind The Rainbow Convention, a dynamic event that highlights the creativity of hairstylists specializing in colorful and bold designs. This convention not only serves as a platform for education but also includes an awards show to honor top talent in the industry. Known for her passion for elevating the vivid hair community, Jordan fosters inclusivity and creativity through her work.

Morgann Hermansen is a 24-year-old master esthetician and acne specialist, originally from Utah and now enjoying life in Florida.
After earning her master esthetician license in Utah, she immediately launched her own solo business. Her chemical peel treatments quickly gained popularity on social media, especially TikTok. Known for her acne expertise and unique journey, Morgann has built a thriving career that breaks the mold of traditional esthetics.
Due to frequently moving, Morgann adapted her business model and became a traveling esthetician, finding new ways to continue serving her clients no matter where life took her. Now, she’s focused on educating her audience through content creation, sharing her knowledge on skincare and treatments with a growing online community.
Whether she’s teaching others about skin treatments, acne, or how to break into esthetics, Morgann’s mission remains the same: to show that estheticians don’t have to fit into a box. They can be creative, adventurous, and carve their own path in the beauty world—just like she did.
