Jake stretching out those doggo fingers, placing them on Finn's face, and their mind's become forever linked.

And as they sing their mind meld song together, the glowy door orbs (dorbs?) begin to glow.

The door slowly creaks open and we see the land of Aaa stretch far and wide; Fionna and Cake singing their own song of the meld.

Two universes thinly veiled for a brief moment experience a harmony that cause all occupants of the lands of Ooo and Aaa to ooo and aaa.

The beauty of the moment when two universes collided would be passed down in legends for the rest of time.

Peace had finally come to all the land thanks to these brave souls on both sides of the veil who, now unified of mind, proudly proclaimed all together 'ICE KING IS THE COOLEST AND ATTRACTIVEST GUY AND WE ARE SO LUCKY TO BE HIS BEST FRIENDS!'"

Ice King puts down his pen and grins. He looks over to Gunter and says "Soooo, whaddaya think? Best fan-fic yet right? Tell me you thought it was good!"

Good Afternoon everyone. Random question, does anyone else remember the game Base Wars for the NES? Because it was incredible. Baseball with robots, but sometimes instead of the runner being out, they would just have the runner and fielder would fight to the death. You could just like, build up a team that was super good at the actual fighting and then forget about the actual baseball part entirely, your team would be pretty bad though, and who doesn't want a pitcher that uses a Megaman buster cannon to throw a curveball. Anyways me and my cousins used to play it all the time at my Grandma's house and it's a very special game to me.

Hello, it's me, your friendly neighborhood shownotes author. Ben is rightfully upset with me because the release is late because once again, I am writing these notes late and not on time. Sorry, Ben. I love you.  

We watched some Adventure Time this week. It was good, it was funny. I liked it. But I want to talk about Star Trek, and sci-fi in general.  

I think there's this reticence in modern science fiction to rely on tropes because it makes your story seem boring or too predictable. And definitely, this episode of Voyager is predictable — as soon as the stakes are laid, you know where it's going and what the broad contours of the story will be.  

But the devil is in the details, and the writer here — Lisa Klink, in her first but thankfully far from last episode — really usefully employs the science fiction tropes we know already to set the scene and let the characters do the work. We know about oppressive, fascist governments, and we know the guys in the black armor and helmets are the violent arm of that government. But it's through the performances and reactions of each character to this well-known setup that we see them shine, and elevates this episode to something great.  

Also Janeway's sex worker outfit is hilarious, peace and love to all my 90s homies

I don't even know what to say about this episode of Voyager. We're still talking about the Kazon? How many of them even are there? Are they the Starbucks of alien villains in space? Why do you need a regular villain alien race anyway? Why is that useful?  

I think Voyager should just go spend its time off an a quiet part of the quadrant, doing its own thing, making its own way, separate from the Federation and Starfleet. Maybe they could find a nice nebula chill in and cook beans over a fire. That sounds like a nice life. A braggable life. The kind of simple life that a Space Princess would enjoy, lumpy or otherwise.

## THAT NIGHT  

A dark magic awakens.  

They feel their body shift unnaturally as they begin to lose consciousness. 

Time passes.  

Was it a minute? An hour? A year? Impossible to know.  

They recall all that led up to this moment. 

Memories of sunlight, a slow walk, a gentle wave to a friend. 

The memories slowly fade. Darkness encroaches. 

And then... light.  

Their eyes wink at the end of their stalks, slowly clearing their vision.  

They are in the same room in the heart of the tree only  their friends gone.  

They are left wondering what kind of unknown horror was done by the magic that overtook them.  

But then they remember... Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. 

"It was probably just a mishap with one of PB's experiments" they thought.  

They squish away slowly to seek answers and learn what became of their dear friends, hoping that they may once again greet them with a friendly wave.

## THE NEXT DAY  

You ever wake up in that moment right before you really, really wake up and everything is a little fuzzy around the corners but the insides look alright and you think to yourself, you know hhh-what, today's the day i'm finally going to do it, i'm going to master my latent psychic abilities and finally possess that snail. i've been thinking about it for a hundred million thousand days or years and i think you know, today, why not today? because tomorrow it could mushroom war and then it'd be too late.   

Anyway so you call your friends and you say to them "hey check it out i'm past 20% of a decade old don't u think its high time that i high mind my way out of this high-falutin* sitchy-witchy using my high-powered mind mesmerism and just zap a guy to death with them?" and they're all like "lol u r such a goof, yes, but only if we can film you doing it" and then you do it but then there's a snail in your backpack and you accidentally murder all your tomato plants.
