What does it take to mount an independent production at Perth Fringe? Shows without corporate backing or deep pockets have been wowing audiences for years but what's the process? What risks are you taking and what inevitable speed bumps will you face? Basement Productions are pulling back the curtain and letting us follow them on a live recuring series we're calling Demystifying Producing. A must listen for new producers and the wider arts scene alike.
*All experiences are centred around the real life process of putting on a show, individual results may vary*

Gavin Nicklette studied jazz performance at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and has played/toured with the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra, Fred Wesley (US trombonist and arranger for James Brown's Big Band), Grace Knight, James Morrison and various other Australian artists.
Passionate about reinventing standard jazz gigs to not only sound great, but also engage the other senses, listeners should be prepared to fall in love with music again.

Self described as the horror hostess with the mostess. Hemlock Honey is a campy cannibal horror drag queen based in Boorloo. She is passionate about the importance of alternative drag in this post-Rupaul world. Hemlock is the regular host & co-producer of Death of Glitter, a queer horror party. She has been compared to Elvira meets Frank N Furter with a dash of Kath and Kim, as well as a predatory lesbian vampire stereotype, which is how she knows she's doing her job.
