Let’s be honest, …. every pivotal moment in your business journey probably began with a powerful question.
I know it’s true for my business journey.
Because,…
What use is coming up with all these smarty-pants answers, if the questions you asked are not on the mark?
Seriously, DO WE SPEND ENOUGH TIME EXPLORING WHAT THE RIGHT QUESTION MAY BE?
Or are we more interested in a quick fix (… because who has time)? 🤔
But also….
👉 What is the right question? How do you know?
👉 How do you create an environment that encourages better questions that unleash growth in your business?
Let’s explore the effect asking better questions has on business growth.

What needs to change in 2024 to make it better than 2023?
The answer I’m coming up with is clear as anything:
TIME! I need TIME! ⏰
It’s not really a surprise, considering I’m running a service business.
In a service business, ...
IF YOU ARE THE MASTER OF YOUR TIME, YOU ARE THE MASTER OF YOUR WORLD.
But that extra nugget of time I’m craving,.... Unlike that out of the blue massive gold find in Bendigo the other day, .... that’s not going to happen for us.
24 hours a day is what we get.
THAT’S IT. NO MORE!
So, what can I change to make better use of these 24 hours I have?
I’ve been in business long enough to know the answer:
✔️ My mindset
✔️ My intentions
✔️ My habits
So let’s unpack that baby... (or all three of them).
Do You Need Some Help With That?
Using habits, mindset, and intentions to free up time isn’t easy. It takes grit and
accountability.
If you want someone to help you, or hold you accountable, we can work together on that in
the next 3 months.
I’m not talking about some cookie cutter program, because let’s be honest, we’re all
different.
✔️ It’s a road trip with me as your co-pilot.
✔️ You’re the pilot, and we’re starting with your unstoppable vision. Because we have to
know where we’re going.
✔️ Then we create a plan that sets your business up for the future. What change do you
need to implement and what do you think is achievable?
✔️ No jargon, no fluff. Straight to the matter.
So let’s make this your best year yet and go on a business adventure together!

To be blunt, I CALL BS ON THE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS.
Because unfailingly it means... playing by some else’s rules.
So does it mean you shouldn’t bother with setting goals?
Absolutely you should.
But, you know what . . .
✔️ Make sure they make sense to YOU
✔️ Make sure they are right for YOUR business
✔️ And most of all, make sure they serve YOUR vision and dreams
So I want to dive into what really matters.
YOUR GOALS, YOUR WAY.
But also, we look at why having “Process Goals” are imperative to achieving your big vision for your business.
Let’s make 2024 the year of unstoppable growth and realisation of YOUR aspirations and dreams!
Do You Want Some Help With That?
At this point, I wish I was standing in front of you in a room, because I'd ask for a show of hands to see how this is landing for you. Were you already aware of the different types of goals, or is this completely new to you?
Maybe it's the next best thing .... jump over to Instagram and send me a DM or comment on one of my posts and let me know your views.
And now, if you're itching to turn these insights into real action, here's the deal – LET'S DIVE IN TOGETHER FOR THE NEXT THREE MONTHS. We're not talking about some cookie-cutter coaching. Think of it more like a road trip with me as your co-pilot.
We'll start with your unstoppable vision and create a plan that sets up your business for unstoppable growth with goals that transform.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but for every podcast I turn to, “goals” are the topic of the moment.
The next thing?
We get busy jotting down aspirations, milestones, dreams, and ideals. AND UNICORNS AND FAIRY TALES 🦄 🧝♀️
Let’s face it, without a vision and a plan, a goal is nothing more than a beautiful but lofty wish. Because nobody tells you HOW to define an ACHIEVABLE business goal that will get you somewhere.
Don't get me wrong, I love dreams and bucket lists as much as the next person. But we shouldn’t mistake them for our realistic business goals for the new year. Not just like that, anyway.
That’s why I introduced my Being Boss "Pāhi Puawai" Coaching Programme a year ago. Not to blow my own trumpet, but last year’s feedback was overwhelmingly praising.
Do You Want Some Help With That?
So,...
Come and join the coaching program so I can help YOU achieve your vision and translate it into achievable business goals.
Because, without wanting to sound dramatic, at this point, you're genuinely standing at a crossroads.

DISTANCE OFTEN BRINGS THE CLARITY WE SEEK
What I mean by that is this:
We may feel like we’re busy doing nothing during the Christmas break, BUT in taking a break from the day to day, we’re actually doing an awful lot! 😲
I, for one, try to make the most of this magical process.
👉 I feed my brain the insights it needs to come up with that clarity.
You know, ...
🌱 I plant the seed (Now)
🌱 I sit back to watch it pop its head out of the ground (During the Christmas break)
🌱 I start to nurture it, prune it and guide it (When I do my yearly planning after the Christmas break)
So what does that seed look like?
The podcast will give you the answer!
It involves some questions and some insightful data.

👉 What makes one business more successful than the other?
The answer is not an easy one and there are many factors at play, but surely SERVICE DELIVERY scores high on the list.
The thing is, in a small business, you’re juggling many things with a limited amount of hands.
And you and your team are expected to sail through it all with a smile on your face.
The client, on the other hand... expects nothing less than outstanding service delivery.
Which begs the question:
How Do You Provide Consistent Outstanding Service Delivery When You Have A Limited Amount Of Hands To Get The Job Done? 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔
I had a good long think about that.
I came up with 3 THINGS I DID IN MY BUSINESS that had a big impact on service delivery, but may go unmentioned in the books.
Some of them may actually surprise you!
Do You Want Some Help With That?
I hope this episode served you and helps you get a bit clearer on how to optimise service delivery in a small business?
Let me know what YOU do to improve service delivery in a small team! I’m interested to hear.

This week I want to come to you Raw and Real: I’m struggling with CAPACITY ISSUES in my events business.
See, the events industry is seasonal, and right now... it’s crazy time! I mean seriously crazy!
To help my events business team, I’ve had my head down. Get on with the work to get us to the other end.
But of course, that will resolve nothing in the longer term. BECAUSE NEXT YEAR.... 😭
So ....
What can I do to forecast and plan capacity in business so I CAN AVOID THIS MAD DASH IN THE FUTURE?
I don’t have the answers. But I’m working on it!
Which made me come up with this idea...
HOW ABOUT I SHARE THIS PROCESS WITH YOU?
👉 If anything, it reinforces that you’re never done with business. There’s always a next issue to find an answer to.
👉 But also, it’ll give you some insight in how I approach my struggles.
So, .... let’s get raw and real!

After giving the mic to Lynda, my editor, this week it’s Mattie Belsack from Bellbird Writing’s turn to share her favourite BYW podcast episode. Mattie is my content writer.
Mattie's and my journey together started before Business Your Way existed. She started writing for Auaha (my business events company) in 2020, at the start of the pandemic.
When I started the Business Your Way podcast and blog, she was the natural choice to help create the best podcast episode for small business owners. Or at least, the written content side of it.
When I ask Mattie about her favourite BYW podcast episode, she says this:
“ That must be the episode with Rachel Reiter about what it means to be a mum in business. I love it because it is such a deeply human conversation that doesn’t shy away from being vulnerable. As a business owner and a mum too, I recognise that it doesn’t get more honest than that.
Sometimes, hearing somebody else admit that it’s not always easy is all it takes to recognise we are not alone. But also, that our struggles are real and there is a way through it. “
So with that said, here’s Mattie’s favourite BYW podcast episode. www.sandrajulian.co/mum-in-business/
I hope you enjoy it!

Instead of Sandra introducing this week’s episode, you have myself on the mic and I’m talking about my favourite episode of Business Your Way.
But before I get into that, let me introduce myself.
I’m Lynda Stevenson of LJS Creative Services and a member of Sandra’s podcast team.
My role is the podcast editor/manager which involves taking the raw audio, adding an intro, outro and music, along with any intermission voice overs. I make sure the overall conversation flows well and sounds good when you listen in your car, on your daily walk, or wherever you listen to your favourite podcasts. I also create the audiograms, and update the social graphics to promote each episode on the various platforms.
If you’d like to hand over any or all parts of your own podcast, or thinking of starting your own, get in touch, you can find my links in the show notes.
My favourite episode is episode 78, which is 8 Essential Tools For Every Small Business. I'll explain in the podcast why this is a stand-out for me.
I hope you enjoy it!
