"Since the inception of our country there has been a cultural conversation around the word “justice”. Everyone has an opinion or an idea of what it means TO THEM, but very rarely do they align with how others view it. Now, more than ever, we are inundated with headlines about the inequities that permeate our culture every day and we see a constant class of pundits and talking heads with differing opinion on what is just.
Which means we live in a world of subjective justice, that results in very little justice for anyone beyond a select few. How do we guarantee justice for everyone? As you might imagine, this is not an easy task but it starts with creating a collective understanding of the word and how it gets implemented. In this episode, we speak with Libra Forde, the Executive Director of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon and a dedicated advocate for social justice in all spaces and places. We talk about the complicated moment of time we are in and how it is moments like this that open doors for change."
