This week on the pod we are joined by Drew Holcomb. Drew is a husband, dad to three, a singer songwriter and a true Today’s Dad. Drew started us off with a beautifully crafted Today’s Dad definition and the conversation got rolling from there.

A big thanks to Drew for joining us on the show this week! Please be sure to head over to their website (Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors) and rent their Neighborly Christmas Special and grab an album or some swag!

  • Marsh Mokhtari - Gray Whale Gin, Positive Change & New Math

This week on the pod we are joined by Marsh Mokhtari. Marsh is a husband, dad to two, Co-founder and distiller of Gray Whale Gin, a  TV Host of Food Networks, 'Extreme Chef' and Nat Geo's 'Perilous Journeys' and a true Today’s Dad.

Marsh joined us to talk about why he and his wife started Gray Whale Gin, starting a business that “matters” so that he and his wife could set an example for their daughters about doing good in the world...enter a gin company. We also had some rants about the way our kids are learning math, racism, evolving from your parents point of views, Fever-Tree Light Tonic, traveling the world and Geico commercials.

Marsh shared a great Today’s Dad definition with us that was all about listening twice as much as you speak and really “being there” for your kids in whatever moment they are in. A huge thanks to Marsh for joining us on the pod this week!

This week on the pod we are joined by Dr.Chris Yandle. Chris is a husband, dad to two, the mastermind behind #dadlunchnotes and has a PhD in Higher Education Leadership.

We had a great chat with Chris about his book, Lucky Enough: A Year of a Dad’s Daily Notes of Encouragement and Life Lessons to His Daughter, #dadlunchnotes, his thoughts on Covid and its impact on the education system, Below Deck and much more.

Chris shared a great Today’s Dad Definition where he talked about the importance of showing vulnerability and how a Today’s Dad understands that his kids may not always be listening but that they are always paying attention, and that you have to lead by example. A big thanks to Chris for joining us on the pod this week!

  • Eric Glader - You can’t have the sweet without the bitter

This week on the pod we are joined by dad to two and the Founder and CEO of PowerDot, Eric Glader! We spoke with Eric about a lot on the pod this week including Covids impact on his family, his wife’s work with Larry King (and how she is way cooler than him), why he created PowerDot and how important grit and determination are for parents and entrepreneurs.

Eric’s Today’s Dad definition pays tribute to his father and the spirit he inherited from him. He talks about how a Today’s Dad has to be the crutch that leads his kids to the path but has to balance that with letting them walk freely. He says a Today’s Dad is present and sees what his children are doing and lets them see what he is doing.

We really enjoyed our conversation with Eric! A big thanks to him for joining us on the show! The PowerDot team hooked our listeners up with 20% off their purchase at www.powerdot.com when you use the code “Dad20” at checkout. We love our PowerDots and know you will too!

We covered a lot with Frank from he and his partner, Hallie Jackson, making the decision for him to take a long paternity leave and his passion behind that, creating balance for their family with both him and Hallie being reporters, the challenge of having a newborn during Covid and so much more!

Frank kicked us off with a great Today’s Dad definition that focused on being an active participant in parenting with your spouse/co-parent, empowering your partner and empowering yourself. A big thanks to Frank for joining us for a great episode.
