Michael is joined by Tom Switzer, Political adviser, former senior fellow at the University of Sydney’s United States Studies Centre (2009-17) & Executive Director of the Centre for Independent Studies, who writes that the upcoming U.S. election sees Donald Trump behind in polling, but Biden’s radical agenda may be costly to his party.

Mr Switzer writes, ‘Donald Trump is on the ropes. He has presided over a pandemic that has claimed almost 225,000 lives and his economic boom of low unemployment and rising wages has come to an abrupt and tragic end.’

‘Add to this a racial crisis and it is no wonder the polls, betting markets and most pundits predict his downfall. According to Real Clear Politics, Joe Biden holds an average eight-point nationwide polling lead.’

‘However, Trump is still in the fight. His rallies are big and boisterous. The spectre of emails once again haunts the Democratic presidential campaign. And the polling discrepancy in the crucial battleground states is narrowing.’

Michael is joined by Robbie Katter, Member for Traeger & leader of Katter's Australian Party, regarding the Queensland election tomorrow which has the likelihood of producing a minority government according to analysts.

Mr Katter sees minority government as a "competitive parliament" and says it gives more power to individuals in the state and forces proper debate in the house.

He says he is infuriated by the way Labor and the LNP have refused to discuss the notion of a deal, and says his party was not yet convinced about who his party might support.

“If anything, I’ve been infuriated more by the major parties coming up to the north and trying to bribe people,” Katter told the Australian this week.

“It’s driven my resolve to be vigilant in my negotiations and to negotiate hard.”

Tony Mahar, National Farmers’ Federation Chief Executive Officer, joins Michael on the issues Aussie farmers currently face not only over the shortage of pickers, but having been hit with heavy rain and monumental hail storms on the cusp of the first harvest after three years of drought.

Hail has destroyed crops in NSW's Central West as heavy rainfall has left paddocks soaking making harvesting near impossible for many and delayed for others.

The National Farmers Federation have sent an appeal to about 30 federal politicians, arguing backpackers should be permitted to enter Australia under a COVID-safe plan to work as harvest labourers after the number of backpackers halved since international borders closed to prevent the spread of the virus.

Professor George Williams AO, Dean of Law Faculty at the University of New South Wales and Anthony Mason Professor of Law and Scientia Professor, joins Michael regarding new calls for Western Australian to secede from the federation in the wake of the coronavirus lockdowns.

Premier Mark McGowan has turned Western Australia into a fortress against infection which has shielded his community from the worst of the pandemic while increasing its separation from the nation.

Not surprisingly, this has rekindled talk of Western Australia seceding from the federation with its movement gaining momentum because of the success of its isolation, and friction with the commonwealth and other states.
