Today is the 94th birthday of the choreographer Bob Fosse.  I am partial to Sweet Charity, but Cabaret is pretty much perfection.  He helped propel dance into the widely-recognized and appreciated art form that it is today.  The world is a better place because he was in it and still feels the loss that he has left.

Today is the 82nd birthday of the artist Scott Burton. His sculptures are beautiful. His life was too short. The world is a better place because he was in it and still feels the loss that he has left.

Today is the 68th birthday of the singer/songwriter/actor/activist Cyndi Lauper. I remember when her “She’s So Unusual” album was released. She was unusual, she was different, she was everything that we needed, but didn’t know we needed. She has changed the landscape of music and activism over her 30+ year career and we are all the better for it.
