Walk With God

Theme Verse: Genesis 42:18 - Joseph said to them, “Do this and you will live, for I fear God.”

SHOW NOTES: We have a Faithful God even when we can’t see Him working – in the midst of a storm, walking in a dark valley, or even … sitting in a prison cell … today, Joseph will stand in Pharoah’s courts. After 13 difficult years, Joseph is put in a position of power and great authority. He has a very important job to do and he is diligent in completing the task assigned to him. God has also blessed him with 2 sons.

Life’s Journey takes many twists and turns – unexpected joys and difficulties. But we do not walk alone. The Lord walks beside us. He is always working out the details of His plan … for you and for me. Here’s the Truth – He is here in our midst … even when we don’t see it, He is working, putting the pieces of His plan in place. He is always working out the details … for you and for me. Scripture: Genesis 41 – 42

SONG: "Way Maker" – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxtoDBnVu7I

Theme Verse: Genesis 39:21 – “But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor.”

SHOW NOTES: There are many lessons for us to learn and wisdom to glean from the lives of people found in the pages of Scripture. Some good examples and some mistakes that provide valuable guidelines and warnings for us to observe and follow. Joseph has been sold into slavery by his 10 older, jealous brothers and finds himself serving in the house of Potiphar. After Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, she lies about him, and Joseph is put into prison. Sometimes God puts His choice servants on a shelf. It seems like God has forgotten Joseph! However, the Lord was with Joseph in every circumstance of His life. He showed him steadfast love and gave him favor. We have a faithful God even when we can’t see Him working – in the midst of a storm, walking in a dark valley, or even … sitting in a prison.  Scripture: Genesis 39:1–41:32

SONG: "Faithful God" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUaS1Y-jyMk

THEME VERSE: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”  – Genesis 50:20

SHOW NOTES: Joseph was the 11th son of Jacob – the loved son, the favored son. But his older brothers hated him. They vowed to never bow down before this boy with a coat of many colors. Can we trust God when we are walking through difficult times? Or do we only trust Him when everything seems to be going just fine? He sees our pain. He knows about the trouble, sadness, and difficult relationships in our lives. The goodness of God is evident every day. Take time to look for His good gifts – they are all around you … even when we find ourselves in a deep pit. Scripture: Genesis 37

Theme Verse: Genesis 28:3 “May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you...”

SHOW NOTES: Our lives are filled with various journeys. People in the Bible give us real-life examples of how we can navigate the different miles along the way. In Genesis 25-28, we view the life’s journey of Isaac, his wife, Rebekah, and their sons, Esau and Jacob. Twins, yet very different from each other. Their struggle was very real and unfortunately, their parents seemed to fan the flame of this sibling rivalry – tension and much competition.

Our God is sovereign, and He desires us to walk with Him. He certainly doesn’t need our help nor does He want us to “fix” impossible situations. Life’s journeys include struggles and difficult times but each of us can always turn to the Lord. Scripture: Genesis 25:20-28, 27:1-46, 28:1-5

Theme Verse: “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to Him as righteousness, and he was called the friend of God.” (James 2:23)

SHOW NOTES: Life is a journey. The path of our journey is filled with twists and turns. There are “bumps’ in the road – joy and sorrow are part of life’s journey for everyone. Abram is called by God to leave his country and go to the land of Canaan. Over the next 24 years, God and Abram had many conversations. God made promises and He called Abram into a Covenant relationship at 99 years old. God changed his name to Abraham and promised to multiply him exceedingly. Abraham believed God and trusted Him as a close friend. Abraham walked the journey of faith and friendship with God Almighty. Scripture: Genesis 12:1-3, 15:1-6, 17:1-21

SONG: "Friend of God" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGJ_81dgoEQ

SHOW NOTES: Each of us travels a pathway with twists and turns, ups and downs, as well as walking the straight and narrow. We face challenges, struggles, joy, pleasure, and through the process – the journey of life – we grow and learn. Hopefully, we will mature and become wiser. The pages of God’s Written Word have included amazing people and their stories offer keen insight about how we might continue the journey of our lives. Terah left Ur of the Chaldeans with Abram (his son), Sarai (Abram’s wife), and Lot (his grandson) and headed toward the land of Canaan. However, Terah settled in Haran and he died there. There are important lessons for us to learn from the lives of these people in the book of Genesis. Scripture: Genesis 11:27-32; 12:1-3

We're TAKING A BRIEF BREAK DURING THIS MONTH OF June, while an exciting career move has us relocating from San Antonio, Texas to Ohio (... a little more on that later on an upcoming podcast)!

MOST IMPORTANT, we're preparing for our upcoming "Walk With God Tour Of Israel" – and you and all our friends and listeners are invited!

There are countless reasons to join us on our "Walk With God" Bible Tour of The Holy Land this November 2022. That's why we invite you to join us on our spectacular Bible Tour of Israel – exclusively sponsored by The Himmelreich Memorial Library and The Awakening Worldwide.

Our tour brings the Bible into living color as you walk where Jesus walked! You'll sail the Sea of Galilee – in a replica boat from Biblical times. And you'll experience the very wilderness where Jesus was tempted by Satan.

EVEN THE OLD TESTAMENT WILL COME ALIVE AS WE VISIT:

The home city of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The battlefield where David defeated Goliath. And the caves where David hid in exile. You'll stand where Gideon chose his 300 men for battle. And visit historic Jericho.

Best of all, you'll personally visit many locations where Jesus himself walked! Mount Arbel's stunning vista of the Sea of Galilee. And many sites of Jesus' public ministry: Capernaum, where Jesus preached, and the Mount of Beatitudes.

You'll stand where Peter proclaimed: “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And take in the view of Paul's route to Damascus along the Golan Heights.

You'll be an eye-witness to the sites of Jesus’ final week. Walk in His footsteps down Palm Sunday Road. Visit The Upper Room where Jesus dedicated The Last Supper – and more!

The Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed the night he was betrayed...the Via Dolorosa “way of the cross” leading to the site of Jesus' crucifixion...The Garden Tomb & the Mount of Olives where Jesus ascended to heaven.

Along the way, you'll also visit The Herodium, the fortress built by Herod the Great...the “Wailing” Wall...the Israel Museum, home of Israel's greatest archaeological treasures...City of David excavations...overlook the original site of King David's capital...and walk the winding streets within the Old City of Jerusalem city walls.

AND THAT'S NOT ALL! You'll enjoy a unique opportunity to be baptized or re-dedicated in the Jordan River. And take part in a Sacred Communion service.

You'll visit ancient Roman ruins. Masada. Megiddo. The Dead Sea. The Qumran Desert Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered...and so much more!

The Bible comes to life into living color when you "Walk Where Jesus Walked!" Your own Christian walk will never be the same.

Invite a friend! Treat a child or grandchild! Then join us! Get all the details: TheAwakeningWorldwide.com and the links below.

SHOW NOTES: The Sea of Galilee experiences some fierce storms. Jesus witnessed these first-hand as He traveled with His disciples in the Galilee Region. And, we recognize the storms of life are very real! You may be in the middle of a storm now or the next storm may be just around the corner. The Lord has a reason for each trial but we will not be separated from Jesus. He is walking beside us. There are times, in His sovereign will, when He chooses to calm the storm. Imagine His divine words, “Peace, be still” and, the winds and waves obeyed His voice. Take the truth from this storm on the Sea of Galilee and apply it to your circumstance today. We can rest knowing that He always holds us close – whether He calms the storm or whether He chooses to hold us in His arms as the storm rages all around us. Scripture: Mark 4:35-41; 6:45-52; Luke 5:1-11

SHOW NOTES: You may remember a time in your life when you had to take quick action. In 1 Samuel 25 we read about Nabal, Abigail, and David. Abigail was told some troubling news and she quickly packed a picnic feast. Loading the last donkey, she mounted her donkey and went out to meet David and his men. The purpose for this picnic was to divert a massacre – Nabal and all the males in his household. The contrast of foolish words and wisdom is evident in this story. Amid difficult relationships and circumstances, each of us needs to look to God and seek His guidance. Scripture: 1 Samuel 25
