SHOW NOTES: In Psalm 62, we find a declaration of trust that directs our attention to Elohim – the strong and mighty Creator God. David wrote many Psalms and shared his trust in God even during difficult circumstances. He says, “Truly, my heart rests in God.” David was chased before he was the king of Israel and through the years when he was the king. This psalm presents David’s boldest statement of trust and confidence in God. Rest in God even amid life’s struggles and hard times. David looked to God and God alone. Trust in Him at all times. Scripture: Psalm 62:1-8

SHOW NOTES: Jesus walked in the Judean wilderness, and He truly understands the path we walk today. At times the path of life can be rugged – filled with steep hills and dark valleys. The Lord is a Good Shepherd. Do you know the Shepherd’s voice? Do you take time to sit with Him, to walk with Him? The Lord also wants to restore your soul. When you pause and listen for His voice, then His strength and righteousness will be evident in your life. He wants us to rest in Him and trust in His sovereign plan. Scripture: Psalm 23:1-3

SHOW NOTES: Caesarea is the magnificent port city created by Herod the Great. Walking around the ruins here, you hear the waves of the Mediterranean Sea crash on the rocky shore. Our imaginations are captured by the beauty this city once shared with its visitors. The lives of three men were changed in this place. First, Cornelius, a centurion and a devout man who feared God (Acts 10). Next, Herod Agrippa receives vain words of praise and he meets tragedy (Acts 12). And then, Paul sits in prison for two long years awaiting his transport to Rome where God has called him to preach the gospel (Acts 21–24). Three different men in the same city and God shows His purpose and plan for each of their lives – salvation, righteous judgment, and wait for God’s timing. Come, walk in Israel, and grow in your worship and praise of the Lord.

SHOW NOTES: Two on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus. They had gone to participate in the Passover but this year had been so dreadfully different. Jesus the Nazarene had been crucified. On their walk they were joined by a man they did not recognize – the resurrected Jesus joined them on their journey. In the conversation, Jesus provides amazing instruction and teaching regarding His death and resurrection. Later, Jesus broke bread with them, and their eyes were opened. Truly, the Lord has risen. Let our hearts rejoice because our Redeemer lives! Scripture: Luke 24:13-35

SHOW NOTES: Jesus raised His eyes to His Heavenly Father in prayer. This is such a valuable example Jesus has modeled for us. In this passage Jesus prepares Himself through this time of intercession with His Heavenly Father. He has glorified the Father as an obedient Son! Then, He prays for His disciples and for those who will believe in the future. Jesus knows the disciples received the words He taught; and they truly understood that Jesus was sent by the Father. He prays, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” Jesus also prayed for those who would hear the Word through the disciples and believe in His name. God the Father and Jesus, the Son of God, are glorified when we walk by faith and live a life of obedience. Each day we should seek to glorify His Name!

SHOW NOTES: There is great comfort in this message as Jesus instructs His disciples. He promises to prepare a place for them in the Father’s house. We need Jesus’ words today, “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” Jesus is the way to the Father. He is the truth and the life. In the midst of difficult circumstances, hard days, and our everyday lives, the Father has given the Helper. The Holy Spirit will give wisdom, guidance, direction, and teach us as we walk the path of life. The world leaves our hearts troubled and fearful! But Jesus gives us … peace. Scripture: John 14:1-27

Show Notes: Praise and worship play an important role in our heart attitudes toward the Lord. In today’s lesson, we have the beautiful example of one woman – devoted to Him and so very thankful for all He had done to free her from the bondage of sin. The scriptures never tell us what her past involved but through her act of extravagant worship, we know she was grateful and totally committed to her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She brought an expensive perfumed oil, knelt before Jesus, and anointed His feet as she wiped them with her hair. Even to this day, we remember the beautiful setting when Mary gave her praise offering to her Savior. How do I demonstrate my praise, love, and commitment to Jesus? Scripture: John 12:1-11

SHOW NOTES: The loss of a close friend or family member is difficult. We feel sorrow, pain, and deep grief. Even Jesus experienced these emotions when He came to the tomb of His dear friend, Lazarus. But Jesus said this sickness would not result in his physical death. No, God had a specific purpose! The gospel writer shares, “BUT for the glory of God, SO that the Son of God may be glorified by it.” Many Jews were present in the village of Bethany that day and many chose to believe in Jesus. “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.” However, the plot thickens and the stage continues to be set for the death of Jesus. The Jewish religious leaders strongly oppose Him and they seek to destroy Jesus. Scripture Passage: John 11:1-46

Show Notes: The lessons in the book of Haggai have allowed us to see God’s heart – calling His people back to a close walk with Him. We serve a God who is able and truly desires to “reverse a curse.” Part of the encouragement of this passage is the fact that God will someday set all things right on earth. All around us, we see the brokenness of individuals, cities, nations – the whole world. But, we serve The LORD of hosts – Commander of the angelic, heavenly forces. When God’s kingdom comes to earth, then the curse of sin and death will be reversed on all people and all nations. We were once dead in our transgressions but He has made us alive. Let’s praise God together. He has reversed the curse of eternal death and separation from God! Scripture Passage: Haggai 2:20-23
Show Notes: God does provide for His children when they walk in obedience according to His Word and His Will. Each day we face many decisions and choices that require our attention. And each time, we must answer the question, “Will I walk in obedience?” The people in Jerusalem had not followed the Word of the Lord and God had withheld His hand of protection and provision. The people did respond in a godly way to the first message in chapter one. The hearts and attitudes of the people have changed. Therefore, the Lord now says, “Do consider from this day onward … I will bless you.” Scripture Passage: Haggai 2:15-19
