Vernon is back after being away caring for his mother, who passed away on October 23, 2022. In this episode, we discuss the idea of our human rulers and authorities (how appropriate for election day), honor and humility, crazy family dynamics, and more.

Vernon talks about finding grace in the place we probably don't want to go...suffering! And not just suffering when bad stuff happens, but suffering when we are doing right! This applies at work, in ministry, and most often in relationships. 

Vernon asks the question, "are you looking for something more other than what you already have in Christ?" There are those who try and convince us that we need something more than Jesus Christ to be satisfied in this life, or to be a more spiritual Christian, or have more victory, or on and on it goes. Some of their arguments can be very persuasive! Paul addresses this issue in Colossians 2. Vernon encourages us to rest in the finished work of Christ.

Vernon encourages us through 2 Peter 1 to "own it", that is, to own your recovery and your walk in Christ! No one will do it for you, and you have everything you need in Christ to walk free.

Vernon is back to discuss the question, "does God speak to Christians today?" 

Vernon takes us through a conversation around the purity ring, generally worn as one's commitment to remaining sexually pure and often given by parents to their daughters. What do you think about that?
