When you tell your children how to behave or give sincere advise to a friend but they both ignore everything you say, it hurts. That’s how Jesus feels when we disregard all that He told us to obey in our lives. Listen to a dialogue Jesus had with an early church like this.

Discouragements and hurts are inevitable if you seek to follow Christ, but He is with you. He felt the same way, but Jesus never lost sight of His life’s purpose, nor should we. It is worth it to live with Him.

If we have learned to trust in Christ for our salvation, we now must learn to trust everything He says, even when it is contrary to our feelings, especially about other people. Listen for how prejudice, especially racial prejudice, cannot be a part of our new life in Christ.

We build our dreams for what we think we need or desire in this life. Now God calls us to build our dreams for our future in our next life with Christ. This life is a training period for what’s coming.

There is a great difference between a wise person and a fool, especially in the Bible, and in practical living. The Bible gives us numerous symptoms to recognized the fools. Life will be much better if we live wisely instead of living as a selfish fool. This podcast will explain the difference

We never have enough evidence necessary for making an absolutely correct decision, not in science, in the judicial courts and often for the will of God. However, we have sufficient evidence to make decisions or conclusions that make sense. If someone wants to believe in the Bible there is ample evidence to backup its declarations. The key is if you want to believe from the heart. Listen for how we should think honestly and reasonable about the Bible.

Life is rarely ideal. The people we have to deal with daily seldom are our best friends (in fact, often they are enemies or antagonists) and our relationships often cause more pain than enjoyment. It is normal to blame others and even God for the disillusionment and discouragement in life, but to live like that is frustrating and to live with people like that is misery. Only a handful of people on earth have a photogenic mind and absolute recall. Most of us have to learn and relearn everything that is important in our lives, especially precepts and commands from the Scripture to make them our guide in life… that is, if we really want to walk with Him.

Christians sometimes are criticized for being so “heavenly minded that they are no earthly good”, but this exaggeration is not realistic if understood. If we understand our heavenly prospects all our earthly responsibilities take on new importance to be faithful and competent, but in balance. Listen for how we are to set our values.
