This is a video taken during my recent trip to Ukraine as Legion and I drone the drone road from Izium to Sloviansk in the east, between 15-20km from the front. We've seen this a few times before

Earlier today the Ukrainian 'I Want to Live" project published a video showing Russians targeting their own soldiers as they tried to surrender. While we can't verify from this clip with 100% confidence that's the case, it fits a pattern of Russia doing just this and does contradict Ukrainian goals of capturing as many Russian soldiers as possible. We also have some updates around the push near Zaporizhia and news that Russia is shutting down Telegram.

Russia is missing Starlink right about now

Today we're looking into new reports that Ukraine has kicked off offensive operations in the south. By now these have been confirmed by both Russian and Ukrainian sources but the scope of the operations is still a little murky. For now it appears that Ukraine may be mopping up locations where a few Russian soldiers broke through the lines but some Russian channels are suggesting this is a bigger problem than that.

A new report from the Ukrainian unmanned systems forces says that more than 30,000 Russian soldiers were killed in January. This despite a slow down in assaults during the cold spell. If this keeps up, we could see staggering numbers when the weather clears.

This might be why Trump wants to restart nuclear tests

Today we're looking at a new accusation from the US State Department saying that China secretly conducted nuclear tests in 2020. This would mark the first test by anyone other than North Korea since 1998 and has arms control experts worried about the possibility of a new arms race.

Today we're looking at the news that SpaceX has shut off access for Russia to use their terminals. This is a major blow to the Russian command and control who have been heavily reliant on this system for years now. While the immediate impact isn't clearly visible on the battlefield, this is the sort of thing that will have a real effect in the logistics and planning in the near future.

Russia's infiltration tactics are paying off near Pokrovsk

Today we're looking into some Russian advances around Pokrovsk where we're getting somewhat mixed signals on progress. While Russia seems to present much more control over the territory than we're seeing elsewhere, the situation has been noted as dire from those in the fight. While it's a little premature for Russia to begin talking about consolidation north of Pokrovsk, it's clear this is where they hope to be in the comings weeks or months. We also look at the ongoing peace talks where delegations are meeting today in Abu Dhabi.
