Joe Galie is a former US Army Special Forces Medic who now serves as the chief legal and operating officer for the RT Weatherman Foundation. And Cresh is a Ukrainian combat medic currently serving in their special operations forces.

Today we're looking at a battlefield update focused on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kostyantynivka. Bottom line up front, despite Russian claims of taking the city on July 3rd, it’s still heavily contested with Ukrainian forces scattered throughout. It’s not a good situation for Ukraine and continues to get worse by the day but it’s just not accurate to say that Russian forces hold the city. In fact, based on recent examples like Pokrovsk, we should probably assume this urban setting will be fought over for months still to come.

4 years ago today, Russia murdered more than 50 Ukrainian POWs. The largest such killing of the entire war to date. In a flurry of disinformation, Russia quickly accused Ukraine of targeting their own men with a HIMARS rocket. A claim that has since been investigated and rejected by the United Nations.
Today we’re talking with two men to better understand what happened here and why it still matters so much today. Nestor Barchuk, Head of international relations on POW issues First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine. Gennady Kharchenko, a soldier of the 12th Azov Brigade who survived the attack that night and was later returned home in a prisoner exchange.

"It's A Slaughter" - Russians Run Into Ukrainian Drone Wall
Looks like armored assault are back, for now
Ukraine just stopped a Russian armored assault in Donetsk which milbloggers referred to as a slaughter, a meat assault and human waves. It looks like Russia may have incorporated in a few new tactics to include Starlink jamming and the use of Geran drones for tactical troop support.

Last week the CIA director said the average life expectancy for a Russian soldier on the battlefield is just 20-30 minutes. Which is crazy but also not true. I mean they don’t last long, especially once they’re pushed out on assault, which one Russian referred to as a one way trip, but even then, 20 minutes is a bit of a stretch.

The war in Iran is very unpopular here in the United States. Like historically unpopular. And I know this is quickly written off as a partisan issue but it’s not, at least not anymore. Even Fox News is showing how few Americans are on board.
Now this isn’t my normal content. I prefer to focus more on the operations and military aspect of war and conflict but with how skewed the support is for this war right now I think ignoring public sentiment would create a blind spot when trying to assess what options the President has at his disposal.

It’s not the tech or the manufacturing, both items that we could tackle and scale tomorrow. It’s adaptation. Warfare right now is changing faster than any time in history.
What works today, may not work tomorrow. With how long it takes us to develop and deploy new technologies, it’s likely that what we roll out to our soldiers is best case no longer the ideal solution, worst case, it’s already outdated, bordering on useless.
One company that’s working to resolve this issue of rapid adaptation is Delian. Delian is a European defense company that builds their products in Ukraine based on real time feedback from the front and are showing how this method could be adopted by other countries around the world.
