Warfare Prayers Transcription00:00:00 Welcome to Warfare Prayers, the podcast where you will find guidance and strength for life's toughest battles. Here you'll be inspired and spiritually grounded through my daily devotions, discovering the power of deliverance and peace that comes from God's Word. Brothers and sisters, I know you have problems. You may be facing issues right now that you don't know what to do about. But I want to encourage you from a scripture that is in Haggai one one through 15. The prophet Haggai is calling on God's people to rebuild the temple. The temple in Jerusalem is in ruin because the Jews were exiled, but now they are back in Jerusalem. And God wants them to rebuild the temple. Things will go as planned in your life when you focus on God's kingdom. And the first thing that God wanted the Jews to do. As it relates to focusing on God's kingdom, is the thing that I'm encouraging you to do today. Brothers and sisters, the first thing God called the Jews to do in this particular text in the book of Haggai is redirect their priorities.
00:01:28 Redirect your priorities. See, a dime is held at arm's length is small. It's a dime. Its minimal value as money is apparent from that perspective. But if it's held close to the eye, even a teeny dime is big enough to limit your vision about God's greater blessings for your life. This is what happened to the people of Israel in Haggai time, because they healed their own desires to close, because they healed their own priorities too close. They couldn't even hear or see the vision that God had for them. The Bible says in Haggai one, in verse three it says, then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, is it time for houses in this temple to lie in ruins? Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts. Consider your ways. God wanted them to consider their ways. That simply means to examine themselves. Why? Because God called them to build the temple. Instead, they were building their own houses. They had much interest in their own things, and God wanted them to seek him first.
00:02:50 Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven, because there are consequences when you neglect what's priority to God. See, they prioritize their desires, their houses, their kingdom instead of God's kingdom. And three things happen when you neglect God's priority. Number one is failure. No matter how hard you work, you never get enough. You can't get ahead. Number two is frustration. Nothing satisfies or accomplish what was hoped for in your life when you neglect God. And the third thing is futility. No matter what you earn, there is no gain. If God is not the center, it's all a loss. This is why the word declares seek first the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness, and then all of these things shall be added unto you. Proverbs says, commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Personally, I've searched all over and I could not find nobody who was faithful and who is truth in Jesus Christ. And brothers and sisters, I encourage you to redirect your priorities as you wake up in the morning.
00:04:12 Seek God as you start about your day. Talk to God. Let God know that he's first Place in your life because that is what he wants. When you decide to give God first place in your life, the Bible says all of these other things will be added on to you. That's favor, that's goodness, that's mercy, that's kindness. That's blessings. This is the goodness of God. So redirect your priorities today. Focus on Jesus. And the Bible says he will be the author and finisher of your faith. God wants you to redirect your priorities. He wants to get your attention. And when you focus on what God is concerned about, God will focus on and bless what you are concerned about. God told the prophet Haggai to tell the people, consider your ways. He says, you have sown much, but bring little. You eat, but you do not have enough. You drink, but you are not filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earn wages to put it into a bag with holes.
00:05:33 So failure, frustration and futility is what they experience, all because they did not take care of God's house. The Lord said in verse two, this people says, the time is not come the time that the Lord house should be built. They were complaining and making excuses that it wasn't time to build God's house. And God is saying it is time. It's always the right time to seek God and to seek his kingdom. Let us pray. Oh father, we pray today that you would teach us in your Word to examine ourselves, that we may be true to our calling and true to our walk with you. We pray, father, that you would forgive us for our sins and cleanse us from any unrighteousness. We pray, father, that you would order our steps, that we would travel the path that you are pleased with. We pray, father, that you would make it so that your plans and your purposes unfold in our lives in a clear way. We pray today, father, that you would rebuke the hand of the devil.
00:06:46 You would cover us from any plot, any schemes, any manipulations or deceptions, and you would give us discernment. Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit to navigate through life in victory. So, father, we declare victory over us. We declare your will and your purpose. And right now we repent of any sins that's in us, and we choose to redirect our priorities on you. Help us to fix our eyes on you, Lord, because you are the author and finisher of our faith, and you are the source of our life. We thank you, father, and it's in Jesus precious and powerful name we pray, who is the Christ? Amen.
