Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.
In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss 6 Tricks To Increase Your Focus.
6 Tricks To Increase Your Focus
Do you ever find it hard to complete tasks because it feels as though your mind is racing and it’s too hard to concentrate on finishing what you set out to do? It’s easy for most of us to become distracted from time to time, but there are several ways to calm your mind so that you can achieve what you’ve set out to do.
Try these strategies to increase your focus and boost your productivity:

    * Get an early start. If you have a difficult or tedious task to complete, you might be tempted to put it off. Procrastinating can increase your stress, which makes it harder to focus on completing the task.

    * Getting an early start on boring or demanding work lowers your stress and helps you to stay focused.

    * Make time for breaks. You might think that you’ll get more done if you just keep your nose to the grindstone. However, if your work is particularly long or physically demanding, you can maintain greater focus by taking frequent breaks.

    * Taking breaks before you’re completely exhausted helps you to come back to your task with your energy levels recharged. When your energy levels are high, you’re more able to concentrate fully on the task at hand.

    * Adopt a healthy lifestyle. Our minds and bodies are made to work together in harmony. Being in good health reduces stress and makes it easier to concentrate on your work.

    * Adopting a healthy diet will give you the nutrients that you need for your mind and body to operate at peak performance. When you’re full of energy boosting nutrients, you’re less likely to feel distracted.
    * Walking and other moderately physical activities can help you clear your mind. Walking also increases the blood flow to your brain, which can boost your ability to focus.
    * Getting enough sleep each day gives you the energy that you need to stop your thoughts from wandering.
    * Drink plenty of water each day. Dehydration can sap your energy and ability to think clearly.

    * Practicing mindfulness. Increase your focus by taking the time to be more aware of your surroundings.

    * Learn to use all of your senses as you experience the people, places, and objects in your environment. Looking at things with a different perspective boosts your creativity and focus.

    * Meditation boosts concentration in several ways.

    * Meditation can help you learn progressive relaxation, which helps to reduce the stress and anxiety that make it difficult to concentrate.
    * Meditating increases your ability to concentrate. The more you practice on focusing, the easier it gets.

    * Take steps to eliminate distractions. It’s easier to stay focused and complete tasks when you are free of distractions.

    * Before you begin to work on a task, ensure that you have everything you need and make your workspace as comfortable as possible.

Random thoughts and interruptions don’t have to derail your concentration and prevent you from completing your work. Learning how to eliminate distractions and focus your attention will help you lower your stress and finish tasks.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss how to Expand Your Comfort Zone in 6 Steps

Expand Your Comfort Zone in 6 Steps

Most of us avoid discomfort at all costs. It’s the biggest limiting factor for most people. If you could handle discomfort better, you would never procrastinate, never quit a diet, exercise every day, and complete everything you ever wanted to accomplish. You would most likely live a much more exciting life.

Follow this process to become more comfortable with discomfort and set yourself free:

    * Start with something that’s difficult, but not too challenging

    * Start slowly. You can always add a little bit of time or extra challenge each week.

Enjoy this Podcast on how to Expand Your Comfort Zone in 6 Steps

    * Push through a little discomfort. Avoid letting yourself quit anything the first time you get the urge to stop.

    * Observe your discomfort. By simply observing and not becoming emotionally involved with your discomfort, you’ll likely notice that your discomfort lessens.

    * When the going gets rough, take a deep breath and force yourself to smile

    * Continue to push a little further the next time. Each time you work through a little more discomfort, it gets easier.

  • 5 Goals For Self-Improvement – Warrior Mind Podcast #637

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss 5 Goals For Self-Improvement.

    5 Goals For Self-Improvement

Self-improvement is something we often talk about but rarely focus on. There are so many ways we can seek self-improvement.

Sometimes, we can make significant changes. Sometimes, however, we can create small changes and take small steps. Let’s take a look at five goals you could set.

How can we work towards self-improvement?

    * Establish a workout routine. Don’t just wait for the next new year to come around. Get yourself to the gym or establish a personalized workout routine and kickstart your journey to fitness.

    * Consider getting an instructor or a personal trainer so you can see results over some time. Set some personal fitness goals and work towards those during your sessions.

    * You will feel energized and you’ll have a sense of control over your life if you join a workout class. You can also meet new people and get valuable opportunities to socialize.

Enjoy this Podcast on 5 Goals For Self-Improvement

More on 5 Goals For Self-Improvement

    * Get on top of your finances. Sorting out your finances will free you from continued concern and worry, and may even help make you feel more in control.

    * Take charge of your finances. Consider your income and expenditures, and set financial goals that will make you happy. You could save for a holiday, home improvements, or some other satisfying reward.

    * By getting on top of your finances, you can start looking to the future and take control of your money. You may be able to identify places where you can save money. You can budget effectively, reduce stress, and may be able to stretch your money further.

    * Organize your home. Take an opportunity to redesign or organize your home.

    * An organized, clutter-free home reduces stress and makes you feel in control of your life.

    * When you organize your home, you can identify what you do and don’t need, and consider a redesign project. This could inspire you and excite you, rekindling your passion for your home and personal spaces.

    * Repair broken relationships. Friendships and relationships are a key part of a healthy, well-balanced life. Sometimes, we can lose touch with friends and family, and it’s important to reach out and repair broken or fractured relationships.

    * Take some time to reconnect with someone you’ve been meaning to catch up with.

    * Plan regular sessions in which you reconnect with friends. This will help remind you of how fortunate you are and will make you feel more supported, and also more supportive.

    * Build a social calendar into your life. You will learn so much from those around you, and you can teach others and pass on your wisdom. Knowledge is power!

    * Consider your career. Take a moment to look at the career path you have chosen. Does it still fulfill you? Are you still engaging and giving it your all?

    * If you feel stuck in a rut but don’t want to ...

  • Unlock Your Potential – Warrior Mind Podcast #635

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss how to Unlock Your Potential by Overcoming Your Limitations.

Unlock Your Potential by Overcoming Your Limitations

Do you put limitations on yourself and then feel like you’re unable to accomplish your goals? A limiting mindset may stem from a difficult childhood, low self-esteem, or past failures.

Despite your specific reason, it all boils down to fear. It could be the fear of rejection or of failing again. It could also be because you’re afraid of not being good enough.

Unlock your potential and overcome your limitations with these tips:

    * Embrace your limitations. You’ll likely encounter someone smarter, stronger, or better looking during your life. Realize that even if you’re not the best at something, you can still be very successful, as long as you make an effort.

    * Avoid letting a fear of inadequacy stop you from trying. It’s okay if you try and fail. Failing to try is the only true failure. Each failure brings you closer to success.

    * Work a little harder. If you’re less than stellar at something, you can compensate by working even harder.

    * Thomas Edison once said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Even coming up with a great idea for a new invention is more about hard work than about being brilliant. Lots of people have unique ideas, but it takes someone who’s willing to put in the extra effort to make it successful.

    * Avoid letting fear hold you back. Just get to work and hope for the best.

Enjoy this Podcast on How to Unlock Your Potential by Overcoming Your Limitations

More on How to Unlock Your Potential by Overcoming Your Limitations

    * Set goals. Before you get in your car and turn on the ignition, you have a destination in mind. Accomplishing things in life can be the same way. Have a clear understanding of where you want to go and then you can figure out how to get there.

    * Set realistic goals but be willing to step out of your comfort zone. It can be very discouraging if your goals are impossible to achieve. Make your goals challenging, yet attainable.

    * If your goals are too easy, you won’t feel a sense of accomplishment or any motivation to push yourself towards them.

    * Find a coach. Every athlete who succeeds in sports owes a lot of credit to their coaches. Coaches help take players to places they would be unable to get to by themselves. It isn’t only athletes that can benefit from coaching. You can talk to career coaches, life coaches, or someone else who can help you achieve success.

    * Understand the limitations of your mindset. Sometimes things seem impossible for us, only because that’s what we believe them to be.

    * As an example, let’s take the story of Roger Bannister. Roger Bannister is the first person to ever run a mile in less than 4 minutes. He did it on May 6, 1954, and before that day, many believed that his accomplishment wasn’t humanly possible.

    * Many gifted athletes had come incredibly close,

  • 7 Habits of Ultra-Successful People – Warrior Mind Podcast #634

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to go over 7 Habits of Ultra-Successful People.

    7 Habits of Ultra-Successful People

If you’ve ever known anyone ultra-successful, you know that they can appear to be a different breed. We’re not talking about someone that’s a straight-A student and goes on to make $250,000 per year. We’re talking about people that win gold medals, become billionaires, or impact the entire world in some way.

These ultra-successful people are all unique, but they share many of the same habits.

Mimic these habits of successful people and become more successful yourself:

    * Get up early. The vast majority of the most successful people in the world get up very early. They make great use of this time, too. They have a morning routine that often includes exercise and meditation or prayer.

    * Try getting up an hour earlier and have a plan for using this time effectively. Do this for 30 days and evaluate the results.

    * Practice self-discipline. Success requires work. High levels of success require doing work that most people aren’t willing to do. It takes self-discipline to do difficult things day after day.

Work on your self-discipline each day. You have countless opportunities to do this. If you need to lose weight, throw out 25% of your lunch each day. When you feel like taking a break, force yourself to work for another 15 minutes.

Enjoy this Podcast on 7 Habits of Ultra-Successful People

More on 7 Habits of Ultra-Successful People

    * Become action oriented. People with mediocre levels of success often like to plan, but they struggle to actually take any sort of action. Successful people take intelligent action. They are the masters of getting things done. They’re also great at getting started on new projects.

    * Read daily. Reading saves years. Without reading, you’re forced to figure out a lot by yourself. A book written by a competent author is like a mentor. The world is full of experts. Why try to do it all yourself? Stand on the shoulders of the world’s all-time greats.

    * Buy a good book and use the information in it. Life is too short not to take advantage of the expertise of others. Remember that it’s not enough to read and understand the information. You must apply it.

    * Get clear on your goals. Ultra-successful people know exactly what they want. The average person does not. You can’t make progress toward a goal if you’re not aware of your goal.

    * Decide what you want. Make a list and be precise.

    * Say, “No” to practically everything. Highly successful people avoid distractions much better than the average person. Many of us say “Yes” to almost every opportunity. Successful people say “No” almost all the time.

    * Decline offers that don’t assist you in the pursuit of your goals. Everything you do either brings you closer to, or takes you further from, your goals. Before agreeing to something, ask yourself, “How does this impact the pursuit of my goals?”.

    * Persevere. The most successful people have a tenacity that most of us fail to demonstrate. We give up far too easily.

    * Set goals that truly excite you. That will encourage you to continue when the going gets tough.

  • How to Create Affirmations – Warrior Mind Podcast #633

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to go over How to Create Your Own Affirmations for personal success.

How to Create Your Own Affirmations

Affirmations are powerful tools you can use to help you live the life you’ve always dreamed of.

    What are affirmations?

Well, they’re positive statements that you say out loud on a regular basis. The goal is to re-program your subconscious mind so you can remove any negative thoughts that prevent you from living your dreams.

Affirmations work by overwriting negative thoughts, which are stored in your subconscious, with positive ones.

    The Benefits of Affirmations

We all have mental recordings repeating again and again in our mind. Most of them come from childhood and have been directing our actions for years. Unfortunately, many of these old recordings are constantly feeding our mind negative information.

These negative recordings don’t always come from direct statements from people, but they tend to be general theories we’ve come to believe about our situation or ourselves.

If our parents always cautioned us about strangers, for example, we may have the mindset that sees the world as a dangerous place. If we came from a family without much money, we may have limiting beliefs about our finances that prevent us from attaining or keeping wealth.

The good news is you can override these destructive messages using the power of affirmations! Affirmations can reinforce good behaviors and change ones that need changing. To make those changes, you need to create affirmations you can identify with so they can help you improve.

Enjoy this Podcast on How to Create Your Own Affirmations

More on How to Create Your Own Affirmations

Keep these key points in mind to create effective affirmations:

    * An affirmation must be in the present tense. Your subconscious doesn’t have the ability to accept a promise of future behavior. “I will eat healthy foods” doesn’t give your subconscious a timeline or deadline to perform your promise to yourself.

    * Instead, state your affirmation as though it’s a behavior you already exhibit.“I always make healthy food choices” is a present tense statement your subconscious can accept as a fact.

    * For affirmations to work properly, they must be stated in the first person. In other words, don’t create an affirmation saying, “You must eat healthy foods.” In order for your affirmation to matter to your subconscious, it must be personal and use the word “I.”

    * “I will choose healthy foods every time I eat” is a personal statement your subconscious can apply to your own behavior.

    * Finally, an affirmation must be stated in a positive manner. “I must stop eating junk food” sends your mind a distorted message; it interprets the same as “I eat junk food.” This type of statement will lead you in the opposite direction of your goal!

    * Instead, “I choose fresh, healthy snacks when I am hungry” is a positive statement telling your mind the exact desired behavior.

  • How to Maintain a Positive Mindset – Warrior Mind Podcast #632

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to go over How to Maintain a Positive Mindset when you don’t feel like it.

How to Maintain a Positive Mindset

Do you have days when you know it’s better to be upbeat and positive, but you just don’t feel like it? When you face challenges or feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities, it can be difficult to maintain a positive attitude.

Try these techniques to improve your mood and experience the inner peace you deserve:

    * Start your day with something positive. Decide each morning that you’ll start the day headed in the right direction. Instead of waking up on the wrong side of the bed and setting the stage for a grouchy day, resolve to experience something positive first thing in the morning.

    * Develop a morning routine that you can repeat daily to ease into your day’s responsibilities. Determine what activities help improve your mood and put you on the path to positive thinking. Find two or three things you can do each morning that’ll set the stage for a successful day. As these become habit, add to the routine little by little.

    * A routine will help your body and mind settle in and focus on what you need to accomplish. Instead of rushing around or forgetting important details, your plan will guide you through a peaceful set of steps that calm your mind and create unstoppable momentum.

Enjoy this Podcast on How to Maintain a Positive Mindset

More on How to Maintain a Positive Mindset

    * Set exciting goals. If you wake up each morning with nothing to look forward to, your mind may quickly latch onto negative feelings that can last throughout the day. Give your life focus by setting goals that motivate and excite you. Write those goals down and review them every day. Each day, take some small action that brings you closer to attaining your goal.

    * Set aside a few minutes this week to write down all the reasons why each goal is important to you. How will you feel when you reach the goal you’ve set? How will your loved ones be affected? How will your quality of life improve?

    * Spend a few minutes each day reading through this list. A big enough “why” can help you to overcome obstacles that are in your way.

    * Surround yourself with positive people. If you want to feel better about your life, hang around people that encourage you and bring out the best in you. Spend more time with people that make you feel good about yourself and less time with those that complain about everything.

    * Every cloud has a silver lining and it’s easier to find that silver lining when you hang around people that help you to see it.

    * Remember that bad days happen. When you have a bad day, don’t beat yourself up or dwell on it. Remember that tomorrow is a new day with exciting possibilities and challenges. Your next victory is right around the corner if you resolve to start with a fresh perspective.

These suggestions will only help if you put them into practice. Pick one or more of them and decide that your happiness is worth small changes that lead to a big payoff.

  • Why Success Eludes You – Warrior Mind Podcast #631

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to go over the 11 Reasons Why Success Elude You.

11 Reasons Why Success Elude You

Most of us aren’t experiencing the level of success we desire. It’s easy to see what successful people do. However, it can be challenging to notice the things successful people avoid. Avoiding the common success mistakes improves your odds of attaining higher levels of achievement.

Avoid these common mistakes on the road to success:

    * Using socially acceptable excuses to quit. It’s easy to come up with 20 good reasons to quit before you reach success. Socially acceptable excuses are those your peers will best understand. That’s the easy way out. Refuse to fall into this trap.

    * Not having habits that support your goals. Your results in life are a reflection of your habits. You’re moving either closer or further from success each day. Effective habits ensure that you make consistent progress.

    * Relying on luck. In an effort to avoid work or responsibility, many of us do the minimum necessary to have a chance to be successful and rely on a little luck to carry us the rest of the way.

    * A more effective alternative is to have such a good plan and do so much that you’d have to be incredibly unlucky to fail. Borrow the military’s idea of overwhelming force. Bring more resources to the fight than you think you’d ever need.

    * Not knowing where you’re going. Success requires a known endpoint. You can’t accidentally end up on the summit of Mt. Everest. Any significant achievement requires that you clearly understand your objective. Avoid just working hard. Work hard with a purpose.

Enjoy this Podcast on the 11 Reasons Why Success Elude You

More on the 11 Reasons Why Success Elude You

    * Lacking a realistic timeline. In your enthusiasm, be careful about being too aggressive with the timeline when you set a goal. It’s easy to overestimate what can be accomplished in a certain time period. If you overestimate what you can do in the short term, you’re likely to become discouraged.

    * Giving up too soon. This is the biggest reason for a lack of success. If you never quit, you can’t fail. Sooner or later, things will work out. Keep going.

    * You’re afraid of success. It seems like you’d have to be crazy to be afraid of success, but success isn’t 100% positive. There’s more responsibility. More people are watching you. There can be a certain amount of stress associated with success. Just remember that being unsuccessful is uncomfortable, too.

    * You’re afraid of failure. Failing can be hard on the ego. The most successful people have failed the most. In all likelihood, most people won’t even notice the failures on your way to success.

    * Avoiding full responsibility. Your success and failures are your responsibility. It doesn’t matter that your parents aren’t supportive or that your friend won’t loan you $500. When you blame others, you admit to yourself that you’re not in control of the situation. Take control by accepting responsibility.

    * Being pessimistic. A negative attitude brings negative results. When you expect a poor outcome,

  • 7 Mental Blocks That Limit Success – Warrior Mind Podcast #630

Over 10 years and going strong!  With over 2M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to go 7 Mental Blocks That Limit Your Success.

7 Mental Blocks That Limit Your Success.

Becoming successful is much more about your beliefs than it is about your current skills and talents. Recognizing the mental blocks that limit your success might be the most important step you can take on your journey to a successful life. Mental blocks are insidious. They begin at a young age and quickly become the norm.

We become so used to their existence that we fail to question them. We learn to limit ourselves and blindly accept the criticisms of our family members, teachers, peers, and even strangers.

Learn to recognize these mental blocks:

    * Your self-doubt is limiting your ability to take action. The most successful people tend to overestimate their abilities at first. However, studies have shown that these same people eventually grow to meet their expectations. Have the courage to believe that you are capable. You’ll ultimately prove yourself correct.

2 Also consider that the most pessimistic of people are the most accurate when assessing their skill at a new task. They also finish behind all other groups in the long term. Be optimistic and you’ll come out ahead.

    3. You refuse to get or accept help from others. Life is too short to gain the necessary knowledge and perform every task yourself. You can find others that have already been successful in your field of choice. Seek these experts out and get the help you require.

Enjoy this Podcast on 7 Mental Blocks That Limit Your Success.

More on 7 Mental Blocks That Limit Your Success.

    4. You think you lack the necessary education. The percentage of highly successful people who failed to complete high school is staggering. While a lack of education can prevent you from becoming a brain surgeon, it’s possible you already have all the education you require to be successful in other endeavors.

    5. You think your competitors are better than you are. Studies have shown that we tend to underestimate ourselves and overestimate others. Consider the fact that you might be giving your competition more credit than they deserve! Examine your competition and improve upon their efforts. Otherwise, ignore them and get busy.

You believe that your goals aren’t achievable. If you’re sure you can’t be successful, you’ll never get started. Be objective with your goals. Are they really too challenging? Or are you failing to believe in your capabilities sufficiently?

    * It might be worthwhile to scale back your goals slightly until you feel more confident. You can always grow into your goals in the future.

    * You’re afraid to see your truth. It’s possible you’re nervous about discovering your shortcomings. It’s easy to maintain a little hope if you stay on the sidelines. After all, maybe you really do have what it takes. You haven’t done anything to prove yourself wrong yet.

    * Try your best and see what happens. You’re unlikely to be successful on the first attempt anyway. However, the second attempt will be better than the first. The third will be even more effective. Continue until you’ve attained success.
