We’re back with another Queued Up, As Requested, and this time we’re talking about If I Go, Will They Miss Me. Starring J. Alphonse Nicholson and Danielle Brooks, this film gives us a powerful look at family, fatherhood, generational trauma, and what happens when a child puts their parent on a pedestal that they don’t believe they deserve.

We’re breaking down the complicated relationship between Big Ant and Little Ant, Big Ant’s struggle to reconnect with his son after being away, and the pressure that comes with being seen as a “God” through your child’s eyes. We get into Little Ant’s drawings, the kids in the white T-shirts, the meaning behind “take flight,” and how the film uses Greek mythology to explore the burdens that can be passed from one generation to the next.

We also talk about Lozita’s role as a mother, JJ’s friendship with Little Ant and his willingness to hold Big Ant accountable, the importance of Black male friendships, pride and ego, and why sometimes simply being present isn’t enough, you have to be intentional with your children. And that rooftop scene? Yeah… we HAD to talk about that. From the use of mirrors to the beach, the final prayer, and that emotional father-son “flying” moment, this movie gave us plenty to unpack. Episode 4 of The Drop: A Snowfall Saga is titled “The Push,” and there was definitely a lot of pushing happening throughout this episode.

During this Side Quest Review, we gave major kudos to Leon (Isiah John) for his performance. The growth and maturity he’s brought to the character has been a sight to see. He’s not the same man we saw pushing rock with Franklin, the same Leon we catch glimpses of in those old polaroids.

Meanwhile, Wanda makes some decisions that remind us of her “old life,” as the lies and manipulation start spilling over. Was she wrong to ignore DG’s advice and wait for him to handle the single? Is there still respect between Wanda and Dara? We get into all of that and how Dara stole the episode.

We’re back with our Side Quest Reviews for Lanterns, breaking down Episode 7. This episode peels back a few more layers of Hal as we get a flashback to his relationship with his father. John and Sub-Hal (Hal Jordan’s subconscious) go on a few side quests of their own, which includes Kerry seeing her best eater’s subconscious. Meanwhile, the group suspects Noah more than ever.

With just one episode left, we’ve got plenty of theories and even more questions. How is this show going to wrap everything up with so many unanswered questions? Does John actually have a level of love and respect for Hal, or is it rooted more in hate? And, of course, we have to get into our continued hatred for Maggy.

We are back on our ROAD TO DOOMSDAY and next up is Marvel’s Avengers, the first of many team ups of our new favorite heroes. Is this the blueprint of team up films? Who’s missing from the Doomsday lineup that should be in the film? Tony Stark, Thor, and Steve Roger’s are back but at what cost and what role will they be playing on the team. Was Tony ever really a “good guy?” How Marvel’s Avengers connects with Doomday and much much more and of course WAS IT FOOD THOUGH!!?

The Drop is back with its third episode , and I belive we can all agree… LAMAR YOUS A BITCH CUH! Anthony, of the Talkin Ish A Podcast Amongst Friends , joins us as we discuss the latest drop in the series . We get a deeper glimpse in to James Jr and what he wants out of life. Big Daddy gives James a new task, focus strictly on Lamar. Wanda is trying to hold it all together as everything comes to a head. Lamar heads to the Blue House and it doesn’t go the way he expects it!

We heading back to Rushville! Episode 6 of Lanterns brings us back to current day and shows us the events that lead John back to bury his former mentor. Hal is looking for redemption so , even though he’s hated, he’s trying to help out around the town. John is also treated with a not so warm welcome and a white lady asking for reparations, WHAT! John is off the vegan train, but he has also left his parents in the dust. We talk about the new interesting developments from John over the past 10 years and his brush in with Guy Gardner. Sinestro is free. Noah is suspicious and we get into the world building this episode creates.

We’re headed to Hillman, Ladies and Gents, but not the Hillman of today. We’re talking about the classic, culturally impactful, and highly celebrated Hillman from the late 1980s! That’s right, for Episode 224, we’re discussing A Different World ahead of the new series coming to Netflix. We brought in our sister Helaine from Talkin Ish: A Podcast Amongst Friends and our brother Austin to dive into the cultural importance of the series, the characters, the topics it tackled, and even put our guests to the test with a little “Make Ya Case.”

We agree on some things, disagree on plenty of others, but at the end of the day, we’re all from A Different World and we have a genuine appreciation for a series that not only reflected the Black college experience but also highlighted the importance of community, culture, and representation.

But of course, we still had to answer the most important question…
